This is doubly and trebly true in GreenPeace Oregon, where no evidence can possibly rise to the lofty level of probable cause in these leftist/socialist judges little minds.
These statements, to me, do not compute. The fact that Oregon & elsewhere have leftist/socialists judges who require a high amount of "probable cause" before issuing a search warrant is one thing. Police incompetence is quite another. I've heard a lot of people criticize the police for not digging up the place sooner, but I've assumed that's because they didn't think they had enough to get a warrant. Speaking of search dogs and speaking of the David Westerfield case, many here at FR obviously think that search dogs are only slightly more reliable than voodoo or astrology.
As for the son stating the father confessed, the son only just recently said this (in the last week or 10 days or so). And I think his son's statements are probably what tipped the balance and allowed them to get the search warrant. It's really easy for a lot of armchair quarterbacks to criticize the police and ignore the legal intricacies the police have to wade through thanks to our wonderful judicial system.
