BTW, neither place of business complained to the police, so the police had no right to go onto private property to arrest people.

Of course they said they didn't complain. If you complained about the loud partying crowd would you admit it? (I don't believe they didn't complain.)

Not only would I, but I have. When the neighboring house was rented out to two males in their early 20s, and they started having loud all-night parties, I called the cops when they got out of line. Then the next morning I went over, explained what I had done, and:

(a) Told them what I had done, and how to avoid problems with Officer Friendly in the future.

(b) Gave them friendly piece of advice as to what would happen to them should they take my actions the wrong way.

Freedom has responsibilities. You have to step up to the plate, and stand up for your rights if you want them. That is the principle upon which this country was built. Gutless wonders -- and whiners -- generally get what they deserve.
