Actually, the whole Lt. Gov. situation in New York has been wierd for a long time. The governor before Cuomo was Hugh Carey who's first Lt. Gov. was a woman named Mary Krupsak (sp?). She rebelled against him and ran in the Democratic primary against Carey when he ran for reelection. He beat her handily and chose Mario Cuomo as her replacement. Cuomo at that time was a washed-up NYC pol who had failed to win the New York mayoral primary against Ed Koch. This rescued Cuomo's career.

Cuomo's Lt. Gov. was a non-entity named Stan Lundine who has disappeared without a trace. Pataki's first Lt. Gov. was a woman named Betsy Ross (I kid you not) who rebelled against Pataki and switched parties to run for the Democratic nomination four years ago. She lost and has since vanished. I cannot remember the name of the current Lt. Gov.

LOL....I must say, by contrast, FL's Lt. Gov Brogan has done a lot to constantly promote and support Gov Bush's programs, and has worked closely with Gov. Bush. I think Brogan will run for governor someday. He is a former teacher, principal and superintendent.
