The National Education Association, America's largest teachers' union, has entered the debate over how best to take note of the rapidly approaching 9/11 anniversary with a telling bit of idiocy.

The union bosses have put up a Web site backgrounder for teachers which includes, among other things, factual errors like this minor howler: "Afghanistan is a former British colony, which won full independence in 1919."

Once again the NEA shows it's true colors. Is it any wonder that America's children are so ignorant. The dumber they are the more likely they are to become democrats.

Before The Fox News Channel, The Washington times, the New York Post and the Internet, The NEA would get away with such foolishness. They frightened teachers, politicians and the media.

Last night I perused the nea.org website. I wish I'd saved the url. I came to a list of nea resolutions -- about all sorts of subjects. I concluded that it boiled down to this:
The NEA advocates that parents provide food, clothing and lodging for their children and pay the bills -- the schools are in charge of all other aspects of parenting.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but my personal experience with our public schools, as a parent, proves my point. That's why I homeschool.
