OK, folks. How come I'm just now finding out about this?!?!

Sorry! My fault! I should have publicized this earlier, since I'm apparently the first N. Colorado Freeper to have found out about this excellent chance to Stand Up For What We Believe In.

I've spent my life sitting on the sidelines grumbling about all those halfwitted liberal protestors on street corners, but I never considered engaging in a counter protest. The final straw that got me out of the house for the first time ever was in November of 2000 when it looked like Gore was going to get away with the felony crime of Grand Theft Election. I just could NOT sit by any more. I *HAD* to do something!

Inspired by reports of DC Freeper protests outside of "Cheney's House," I emailed a couple of Ft. Collins Freepers to see if they knew of any plans for local street protests, but nothing came of that. I did find one in Louisville (40+ mi S. of here) that was sponsored by an individual who advertised it on LoudCitizen.Com.

What a wonderful time! Being out there every Saturday (until Gore finally threw in the crying towel) taking a stand for justice alongside a dozen or so other patriots was quite an exhilirating time - in spite of some very chilly weather. (I download FR's now famous "Sore Loserman" poster and printed a very large version!)

But there weren't any other Freepers there other than my sister from Longmont. So ever since then, I've been making the assumption - the MISTAKEN assumption, I realize now - that there just wasn't a large enough mass of Freepers in this area to have any kind of organized street protest.

Of course, the only reason we're all here on this street corner now is not because we had the idea, but because the local VFW post started it off last fall in response to The Clueless Ones across the street. And eventually one Freeper showed up (me), and then another (FiveToes), and now it's up to 5 Freepers - plus a lot of family members - this past weekend. Yeah! And thanks for the great photojournals every week, fivetoes!

I guess this could be a lesson to Freepers in other towns who might be making the same mistaken assumption I did. If there is any kind of organized "Peace At Any Price" crowd in your area, you really need to counter it! The longer that we let Clueless People monopolize the conversation by letting them repeat the same Stupid Things over and over with no one challenging them, the closer draws the day when the majority of all people - even normally intelligent people - will believe those Stupid Things as the truth. There's something about repetition and the human brain that lets any Lie eventually be seen as Truth.

So find and make contact with other nearby Freepers! Go to the VFW or American Legion posts, and other local groups that are possible allies. Then get out there and get in their faces!

PS to N. Colo Freepers - Will be in E. Colo next weekend visiting family. I'll miss you all! Back the weekend after.

What a pleasure it was to meet you at last. Your poster's are a legend.

Sorry you can't make the next one, we will try our best to FReep them real good. You can cover for me when I go to Tin Cup in a couple of weeks to harvest an elk. After all, vegetables are what food eats, and I need some meat.

Have a safe and fun weekend.

Nice commentary CCMVRWC.

It has been a pleasure getting to know you. We'll have to try some of those whale recipes.
