Here is a list of that I read in case anyone else feels like telling them the truth.

Terrorist Attacks

* 5 Sep 1972 - Israeli wrestling coach Moshe Weinberg and Joseph Romano were killed by 8 PLO terrorists. Later that day helicopters holding the Israeli hostages was blown up by a terrorist grenade. Remaining hostages in the second helicopter were shot to death by one of the surviving terrorists. In all, 11 Israeli athletes and 1 German policeman were killed. 5 terrorists were killed, 3 were taken hostage.

* 29 Oct 1972 - a Lufthansa jet was hijacked by terrorists demanding that the Munich killers be released. They were released, but an Israeli Counter-Terrorist Team killed 8 of the 11, 1 died later of natural causes, and the last two were assassinated by unknown forces.

* 27 Jun 1976 - four Arab terrorists hijacked an Air France Airbus to land in Uganda's Entebbe Airport. The non-jewish passengers were released. On 4 Jul 1976 Israeli forces stormed the plane killing the terrorists, (2 hostages killed, 103 freed).

* 4 Nov 1979 - US embassy in Tehran, Iran captured by Iranian students. 52 Americans held for 444 days.

* Jul 1982 - American University of Beirut President David Dodge kidnapped. He was released 19 Jul 1983, recaptured, tortured and killed - his murder was called the most gruesome abduction, torture, and killing of a United States citizen. Between 1982-1992 30 Westerners were kidnapped, among them Terry Anderson, Peter Kilburn (American University of Beirut librarian), Benjamin Weir (a Presbyterian minister), David Jacobson (administrator of the American University of Beirut's medical school), and Martin Jenco (a Catholic priest). Anderson spent 2,454 days as a hostage, Weir 495. Others including Buckley, died in captivity or were killed by their kidnappers. Hezzbollah suspected.

* 18 Apr 1983 - US embassy in Beirut bombed (63 dead). Shi'ite Muslims responsible.

* 23 Oct 1983 - US military barracks at Beirut airport bombed (241 Marines killed). Shi'ite Muslims responsible.

* 23 Oct 1983 - French barracks in Beirut destroyed (58 paratroopers killed). Shi'ite Muslims responsible.

* 3 Dec 1984 - Kuwait Airways Flight 221 was hijacked and diverted to Tehran. Two American officials from the U.S. Agency for International Development were killed. Hezzbollah responsible.

* 12 Apr 1985 - a bomb explodes in a Madrid restaurant popular with American servicemen (18 killed, 82 injured). Several groups calim responsibility, but Spanish authorities find the "Islamic Jihad" responsbile.

* 14 Jun 1985 - TWA Flight 847 hijacked (after landiing US. Navy diver Robert Stethem was executed and his body tossed from the plane onto the runway). Hezbollah/Shiite Muslims responsible.

* 7 Oct 1985 - Achille Lauro hijacked by the Palestine Liberation Front. 1 Jewish passenger from the United States, Leon Klinghoffer, was killed.

* 17 Dec 1985 - airports in Rome and Vienna were bombed (20 killed). Libya was linked to the attacks.

* 5 Apr 1986 - a bomb exploded at La Belle, a discotheque in West Berlin known to be popular with off-duty US servicemen (an American soldier and Turkish woman was killed, nearly 200 were wounded). Libya was linked as being responsible for the attack.

* 7 Apr 1986 - three American University of Beirut employees (American Peter Kilburn, and Britons John Douglas and Philip Padfield), were killed by "The Arab Revolutionary Cells", a pro-Libyan group of Palestinians.

* 24 Jul 1987 - a Lebanese terrorist was overpowered by the flight crew during an Air France hijacking (1 passenger killed).

* 21 Dec 1988 - Pan Am flight 103 blew up over Lockerbie, Scotland (259 aboard plane and 11 on ground killed). Two Libyians tried, 1 found guilty.

* 26 Feb 1993 - World Trade Center bombing in New York (6 dead, 1,040 wounded). 6 palestinians found guilty.

* Jan 1995 - bomb explodes prematurely, uncovering a plot by Osama bin Laden to blow up 12 planes as they flew into the US from Southeast Asia, crash another aircraft into CIA headquarters, and also attempt to kill the pope.

* 13 Nov 1995 - US military advisors bombed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (7 dead, 42 injured).

* 25 June 1996 - Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia (19 12
American servicemen dead, hundreds wounded). Thirteen Saudis and one Lebanese, all alleged members of Islamic militant group Hezbollah, are indicted.

* 7 Aug 1998 - American embassies in Kenya (213 dead) and Tanzania (11 dead, combined 224 dead, over 5,000 wounded). 4 men (2 trained by al-Qaeda) convicted, 22 others indicted (including Osama bin Laden).

* Dec 1999 - authorities arrest an Algerian attempting to enter the US from Canada, foiling a plot to bomb the Los Angeles International Airport. Three Algerians tied to Osama bin Laden were convicted in New York in 2001.

* 25 Feb 2000 - The ship "MV Our Lady of Mediatrix" bombed (36 dead, 28 injured, 11 missing). The Moro Islamic Liberation Front suspected.

* 12 Oct 2000 - USS Cole (17 dead, 39 wounded). Suspected of the attack was Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda.

* 11 Sep 2001 - hijacked American Airlines Flight 11 slams into the north tower of the World Trade Center (all 92 on board killed*).

11 Sept 2001 - hijacked United Airlines Flight 175 slams into the south tower of the World Trade Center (all 65 on board killed*).

11 Sep 2001 - hijacked American Flight 77 slams into the Pentagon (all 64 on board killed*).

11 Sep 2001 - hijacked United Flight 93 crashes near Shanksville, PA (all 45 on board killed*).
