The Invasion of Los Angeles
U.S. Census Bureau ^ | 08/24/02 | FreedomFriend

Posted on 08/24/2002 2:37:20 AM PDT by FreedomFriend

Given that the illegal invasion in California and much of the country has come from our neighbor to the south, and being the Mexicans are considered "Hispanic", I think that it is only fair to show general graphic displays of the invasion.

For the following pictures, you will need to know what each color represents. Thus,, here is the key.

1990
Beige 0.0%-16.6% Hispanic
Yellow 16.7%-33.2% Hispanic
Green-Yellow- 33.4%-53.0% Hispanic
Olive Green- 53.3%-75.2% Hispanic
Forest Green- 75.5%-100.0% Hispanic

2000
Beige 0.0%-18.5% Hispanic
Yellow 18.6%-36.2% Hispanic
Green-Yellow 36.3%-55.6% Hispanic
Olive Green 55.7%-76.4% Hispanic
Forest Green 76.4%-98.4% Hispanic

Check out the size and scope of the invasion as it has manifested itself over the years in the LA area, and compare each LA area from 1990 to 2000.

LA Central 1990

LA Central 2000

LA East 1990

LA East 2000

LA Southeast 1990

LA Southeast 2000

LA North 1990

LA North 2000

LA West/Far West 1990

LA West/Far West 2000

Given that the numbers are slightly differentiating, the contrast between 1990 and 2000 is somewhat weakened. However, despite the number variation, the contrasts can clearly be seen.

Do you know how many people 13 million represents? There was 700,000 legally admitted immigrants into the U.S. in 1998. That's 10,000 new, non English speaking Latinos showing up one day, or over many days, in 1300 cities across this nation. Hah? Or 100,000 nervous and unexpected Mexican men or women descending without notice on 130 cities? 1,000,000 going into our biggest 13? All 13 million crashing on Hadenauf's couch?

It's b.s.

Tooth, you want the "Communist DU disruptive race baiter" boquets to come hurling my way - I'm in favor of a National ID card.

I'm on the fence about national ID cards, I see pros and cons.

But one thing that's griped me about the approach to a lot of things, post-9/11, is that citizens are burdened while non-citizens are coddled.

In wartime, I expect to make some sacrifices. But I'm troubled that some of these sacrifices appear to be permanent. This indicates to me an inadequate goal for the outcome of the war, which should only be the unconditional surrender of our adversary. With unconditional surrender, the threat ends.

If the sacrifices are permanent, then it seems the threat is expected to be so as well.

But let's say we accept the permanent sacrifices, even if so much of it is dog and poney stuff for public consumption, like "airport security." Why are we still allowing people from Arab Moslem nations to come to the United States? Why haven't we asked any Arab Moslem non-citizens to leave? If searching for terror cels is like looking for needles in haystacks, what's wrong with smaller haystacks? Aren't we at war?

By the same token, if we're gonna talk about a national ID card as a means of dealing with Illegal immigration, I want to see some good faith enforcement of our immigration laws first. I also want to see the outlawing of alternative ID, such as matricular consular cards being issued by Mexico. I want it to be illegal for banks to give accounts or States to give drivers' licenses to anyone without national ID. Even those mesures are likely to have unintended consequences, but I need to see them on the table before I can discuss the issue.

Deal with the Illegals and non-citizens before burdening Americans.

Are you going to call for the administration moderator anytime anyone has a different opinion from you. I hold the conservative opinion on a conservative forum, thus who do you think you are? I've been called names, told that I'm racist against Mexicans, yet you don't see me calling for the moderator. Your groupie type does this all the type because you can't handle the truth and true PATRIOTS. I'm not here to silence speech, not even yours. You'd think that you could do the same.

I think you need your head examined. I assume by posting this to me you are accusing me of calling the moderator. Well, you'd be wrong.

Not that it matters but you should starp on a pair and apologise to everybody you falsely accused.

By the way, what would qualify me to be in the "True Patriot" club?

This is a perfect time you to share your detailed understanding of the issue. How many illegallly resident Mexican nationals are in the United States right now? Where are they? How are they supporting themselves? How did they get here? When did they get here? What is the financial cost to taxpayers in benefits and entitlements provided to these non-residents. What's their name? Who's their daddy? Is he rich like me?

It's rather interesting to observe how your loopy mind works. Instead of being concerned about the FACT that even the INS and US Census Bureau have no idea of how many millions of illegal aliens live in the U.S., you take the ludicrous tack of using this lack of information as some kind of Alice In Wonderland defense for doing nothing about illegal immigration. This line of reasoning is hard to fathom. It's like you in effect use the gross incompetence of the INS and our nation's lack of immigration control as a rationale for not talking about the illegal immigration Elephant standing in our living room.

Well, perhaps the "Oh we just can't get a handle on this problem, so what can we do" excuse is a Beltway favorite for ignoring the crisis of illegal immigration but it ain't gonna sell in the heartland.

Tell me, does a police officer need to know how many bank robbers live in his town before he can arrest one much less talk about the problem of bank robberies?

You are a case study in irrational thought.

I'm struggling with how to find and process whatever number of scofflaws here among us without an amnesty or "Are Your Papers in Order?" Soviet Bloc style security roadblocks and checkpoints. If it's 1 million, 5 million or 13 million uninvested non-Americans moving freely through our house, we need to get them corralled and it's unrealistic to hope Marine Inspector and his colleagues will happen onto 100,000 or so of them attending an "Illegal Immigrant" convention partying hardy on the River Walk in San Antone.

With the ID, there are regular checkpoints at banks, airports, rental car agencies, workplaces, drivers license bureaus, county welfare agencies, traffic stops etc. that will eventually ferret out those lacking verifiable and authentic proof citizenship. I don't think the card need be used to buy groceries or get a beer at the corner tavern, but if someone wants the things that are needed to put down roots ... housing, auto purchase, banking, medical care from the County General, transportation etc ... that's a filtering process that is not onerous to our citizenry.

There's no clean solution. I don't want a card, just because it'll probably mean two days sitting in queue for the sea slug/civil servant to process the paperwork for each of us in a glacial stupor. I want to find those murderous Islamist bastards, and the card may have more benefit in that endeavor. I don't worry about some central state cell monitoring and assesing my every movements. They can't conduct surveilance on 200 missing but active payroll Americore volunteers who have been incommunacado since '97. I envision unobtrusive check points built into normal commercial transactions we conduct every day, and for which we often have to pull out the old license anyway.

I just want everybody present and accounted for.

I knew if I bided my time, you'd reveal that you're a Zombie.

This is a perfect time you to share your detailed understanding of the issue.

How can I resist that? I saved something for you...

Illegals in AMERICA

About 5.0 million undocumented immigrants were residing in the United States in October 1996, with a range of about 4.6 to 5.4 million (See Table 1, from the DoJ). The population was estimated to be growing by about 275,000 each year, which is about 25,000 lower than the annual level of growth estimated by the INS in 1994.
INS LINK

Let's call it 5 million Illegals in 1996.

The INS estimates there are now six million illegal residents, but acknowledges that the number may be significantly higher. Researchers working with the 2000 Census results believe the illegal alien population may be as large as eleven million, and Census Bureau officials agree that official estimate is too low. Since the 1986 amnesty wiped the slate clean for the bulk of the illegal alien population, the far larger illegal alien problem today is testimony to the fact that the 1986 amnesty weakened our ability to discourage illegal immigration.
Noremoreamnesty.com LINK

So there were 6 million Illegals in 2000, up from 5 million in 1996, right? But…

A new report by the U.S. Census Bureau that puts the number of "unauthorized and quasi-legal" immigrants in the United States at about 8.7 million - double the previous decade's number - has spurred calls by immigration reform groups for tighter immigration controls.

"While we have long cautioned the U.S. government about its immigration policies, we were not aware of the magnitude of foreign nationals living here illegally," Mauro Mujica, chairman of U.S. English, a citizens' action group that advocates a crackdown on illegal immigration, said in a statement.

"Quasi-legal" immigrants, which number 1.7 million, are people who have applied for asylum or refugee status or who were granted "temporary protected status" by the U.S. government because their home countries have been hit by earthquakes or other natural disasters.

Lawrence Morahan, CNSNews.com

News Max LINK

8.7 million - 1.7 million "quasi-legal" immigrants = 7 million Illegals, based on the Census Bureau's revised numbers. Make that "the illegal alien population in 2000." There are certainly more Illegals now.

How many? Hard to say, but take a look at this…

The Immigration and Naturalization Service had figured the number of illegal aliens as 6 million. Scholars at Boston's Northeastern University are now suggesting that the actual number might run as high as 13 million.
News Max LINK

Illegals in CALIFORNIA

California has a total population of about 35 million.
Census 2000 LINK

California is the leading state of residence, with 2.0 million, or 40 percent of the undocumented population. The 7 states with the largest estimated numbers of undocumented immigrants--California (2.0 million), Texas (700,000), New York (540,000), Florida (350,000), Illinois (290,000), New Jersey (135,000), and Arizona (115,000)--accounted for 83 percent of the total population in October 1996.

The 5.0 million undocumented immigrants made up about 1.9 percent of the total U.S. population, with the highest percentages in California, the District of Columbia, and Texas. In the majority of states, undocumented residents comprise less than 1 percent of the population.
INS LINK

Illegals in L.A. County

Los Angeles County has a total population of about 10 million.
Census 2000 LINK

In Los Angeles County alone, providing for some 700,000 illegal immigrants costs county taxpayers $308.4 million, assuming that the aliens paid some $36.2 million in local taxes and fees for services they used.
Rep. Elton Gallegly, before the House - 3/10/1993

That's 700,000 Illegals in L.A. county back in 1993… gotta be more now, no?

…California, home to an estimated 2.25 million of the nation's 5.75 million undocumented immigrants, including 1 million in Los Angeles County.
Los Angeles Daily News, April 12, 2002

Keep in mind, those are unrevised Census 2000 numbers, which are 50% to 100% low nationally. That would give California as many as 3.5 million to 4.5 million Illegals, and L.A. County 1.5 million to 2 million. We may have nearly as many Illegals in California as you have people in Minnesota, and we've definitely got more Illegals in L.A. County than you have people in the Twin Cities…

Illegals in MINNESOTA

Minnesorta has a total population of about 5 million.
Census 2000 LINK

Summary Demographic State Data (and Source)
Population (2001 Census Bureau est.): 4,972,294
Population (2000 Census): 4,919,479
Foreign-born Population (2000 Census): 260,463
Share Foreign-born (2000): 5.3%
Immigrant Stock (2000 CB est.): 500,000
Share Immigrant Stock (2000 est.): 10.2%
Naturalized U.S. Citizens (2000 Census): 95,308
Share Naturalized (2000): 37.4%
Legal Immigrant Admission (INS 1991-2000): 75,779
Refugee Admission (2001 HHS): 3,232
Illegal Alien Population (1996 INS est.): 7,200
Projected Population - 2025 (2001 FAIR): 6,594,000

The Census Bureau estimated that in July 2001 Minnesota's population was 4,972,294 residents. That was an increase of about 52,800 persons (1.1%) since the 2000 Census…

The INS estimates that in October 1996 there were 7,200 illegal aliens resident in Minnesota. This estimate is about 25% higher than the INS estimate of illegal workers in the state in October 1992. The Center for Immigration Studies, estimates the number of illegal alien residents in the state to be as high as 25,000, based on the number of illegal aliens resident there when the amnesty for illegal aliens was enacted in 1986.

The 2000 Census found over six million more residents in the country than expected. Researchers at Northeastern Univ. say that the likely explanation of the discrepancy is a much higher number of illegal aliens residing in the country than the six million estimated by the INS. Minnesota's population in the 2000 Census was about 95,000 higher than expected, and if most of the difference is due to illegal immigrants, that could mean as many as 62,000 more than estimated by the INS.
LINK

So we go from 7,200 llegals in 1996 to 25,000 or possibly 87,000 Illegals in Minnesota by 2000. Not even 2% of your State's population.

The INS St. Paul District estimates conservatively that 25,000 Illegal aliens reside in Minnesota. More recently, a report from H.A.C.E.R. (Hispanic Advocacy and Community Empowerment through Research) estimates that there are between 18,000 and 48,000 undocumented Hispanic workers. (pg. 6)
PDF LINK

So what we're looking at is a population of Illegals in Minnesota somewhere between 25,000 and 50,000… 0.5% to 1% of your population, maybe a bit more. Contrast that with 10% or more Illegals in California's population, and approaching 15% in L.A. County.

In light of the details, do you find them to be at variance with my understanding or personal observations of the mater of Illegal Aliens?

Agreed Sabertrooth! The numbers tell the truth. I have to stick this item here before you close. Hope you don't mind.

I just got an excellent free Video from American Border Patrol. I talked To Glenn Spencer and he promises absolute confidentiality when you fill out the order form.

He was taking the last load of his move to Sierra Vista, Arizona.

Quote from his mail out:

WORKING WITH RANCHERS
As has American Patrol for years, ABP will work with ranchers as Robert Barnett of Douglas, Arizona (featured in Time Magazine), to focus on how, when, and where illegal aliens are crossing out border. We will use video cameras and infrared technology to show, on a regular basis, how illegal aliens are violating our SOVEREIGNTY. (What would Americans think of a Webcam mounted on popular invasion ruotes? How many would log on to try to catch aliens invading their nation? Plenty.)

BORDER PATROL TACTICS
Under the direction of Bill King, Ron Sanders, and other former Border Patrol officials, we will explain to the American people, on a blow-by-blow basis, how the battle for our borders is going. we ill tell them why illegal aliens are dying in the deesert and what we can do to stop it. We will tell them why illegal aliens continue to cross the border, even after they have been arrested up to fifteen time. We will show the American people how terrorits can cross our borders, undetected and undeterred. And, if they want to help their country, we will show Americans how to do it.

. This video is great instead of using talking points to show friends and neigbors and those in denial, that this is a dangerous and growing issue and needs to addressed in the upcoming elections.
