"Over 80 Southern California airport workers arrested" 80 down, 8+ million to go.
Paging Jorge Bush. Paging Jorge Bush
Hmmm. That's strange. He doesn't seem to answer...

"We don't know what is going to happen," Maldonado said, adding that her sister-in-law was breast-feeding her 1-year-old son. "It's not right. She is so worried." And breastfeeding is somehow significant to this story?

LOL! Who knows why the so-called journalist added that unless it was a ploy for sympathy.
To: kattracks
"Companies who hired the workers also face investigation and possible charges or fines, said Greene. " There, my amigos, is the key.
Put the squeeze on the scuzzballs who hire them and *poof*, the whole reason they come here goes away.

Yep, gotta make sure that it's American thugs confiscating the tweezers from granny. I feel so much safer now.

And breastfeeding is somehow significant to this story? It's the reporter's way of using the classic intentional logical fallacy of Appealing to Emotion. By adding this irrelevant tidbit to his story, he has insured that many people who would otherwise think "Great! About time we started deporting illegals!" end up getting that visual image in their mind of this poor woman who has to breastfeed somebody else's kid because they've been detained or deported. Thus the reader starts feeling sympathy towards the lawbreaker, and starts questioning whether or not these criminals should be deported. In other words, they start to gravitate towards a more liberal opinion on the subject. It's a timeworn RAT journalist trick.
Oh, by the way: IF any of us were caught by the authorities using a fake SSN - or, worse, an SSN that belongs to someone else and thus has had their entire SS benefit calculation screwed up and probably has a number of false negative statements on their credit reports - the penalty is five years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine. Most of these dirtbags will probably just get time served and then deported.

This article explains clearly why the "airport security" crappola we put up with is bunk. At no time is ANY aircraft secure. No time. Yet, we are made to stand in lines, put up with the groping of our wives and daughters by foreign federal security employees, and be denied usual baggage.

And I suppose you would prefer foreigners who have shown they have no respect for our Immigration Laws and procedure, who buy phoney ID's in order to scam an entry level job that should be going to a perhaps lazy and/or disgruntled, but at least LEGAL, American citizen?
Sure .... that's a nice way to show your gratitude for being accepted here in the greatest and freest country in the world.

"The arrests, mostly of Hispanic illegal aliens, drew protests from immigrants' rights groups and union officials." What is up with this? These people are not immigrants, they are illegals and as illegals they have no rights here. What part of "illegal" are we failing to grasp here?
To: TonyBanks
Its the only way to end illegal immigration. This is perhaps the only situation that I would support confiscation of property. The penalties have to be severe or they'll continue to force the rest of us to suppliment their cheap labor. But business will continue betraying American workers and get a slap on the wrist at best.

Yep, gotta make sure that it's American thugs confiscating the tweezers from granny. I feel so much safer now.Not me, I would feel much safer with people that are in the country illegal, as they would work harder and do a better job working security at our airports. These hard workers spend their lunch hours picking lettuce and strawberries along side the runways.
How would you like it if you had to pay $3.00 for a head of lettuce?
To: kattracks
"U.S. Attorney Debra W. Yang announced the arrests and indictments" How about deportation? Deportation would be good....or has that become a dirty politically incorrect word?

"We should not scapegoat our immigrants in the name of security," said David Huerta, an organizer with the Service Employees International Union......as he quoted directly from the Journal of Liberalism & Political Correctness.
