Savage tonight trashed the NYT in that they couldn't even be truthful to its own employees in the memo discussing the fall, er, apparent suicide of a fellow employee.
Good for Savage.

The NYT lies all the time. NYT lied about Stalin's genocide in Ukraine. It lied about Stalin's rule. It lied about an alternative to the North Vietnamese taking over. It lied about Castro. Now it wants to help Saddam. It's the most anti-American institution in America.

Before and during the Civil War many papers cautioned Lincoln against taking action. Fortunately for all, he paid no attention to them and instead did what was correct. GWB will do the same.

Don...
Yes he did, and he hired and fired perfumed generals until he found a general willing to fight, namely a drunken store keeper from Ohio, Grant.
It is difficult to discern what all is afoot here in this war posturing. At least that old fool Ford has kept his mouth shut, maybe he died, I dont know.

The New York Times, reflecting the views of its predominantly liberal, metropolitan readership and editorial staff Liberal editorial staff? That's understating the matter considerably. It's composed almost exclusively of militant homos, Marxist kooks, radical feminists, and racial demagogues.

I guess that quote attributed to Lenin about "selling us the rope to hang with which to hang them" came to mind.

You know how good the British are at understatement.

The New York Times, reflecting the views of its predominantly liberal, metropolitan readership and editorial staff. In other words, biased. I couldn't believe I was reading this obviously true assessment in a news piece, then I saw it was a U.K. paper.

I guess I should have added that Savage always finds something to trash about the NYT or mention what a
buffoon Punch is.
However, hearing that memo, I can understand why he beats on them so much. That, and for some reason, the NYT is
still considered the paper of record.
I think he probably goes easy on the SF Chronicle, or maybe he's just exhausted. He's only been carried recently in my locality.

Actually, Grant was not a drunk per se. He couldn't stand as much as one drink without spinning out, hence his reputation for drunkenness. Example of how an oft told falsehood becomes gospel.
To: Don Corleone
Seems like I recall from somewhere, Grant had long bouts of fierce headaches??????
