How can the ACLU claim that the Ten Commandments had no basis in our law when we have laws against taking the Lord's name in vain and violating the Sabbath? How can they make such a claim when no society that was not founded on the Ten Commandments has ever prohibited things like murder, theft or adultery?

Judge Forrester rejected that argument and said that the Ten Commandments are historical and did have a role to play in our system of law and government, therefore, they may be constitutionally displayed.

At last! A judge with some common sense!
