Do you not understand that we are a sovereign nation with laws? I don't understand how you can condone the illegal invasion. It means the end of America as we know it, and you're giving it a pass. Think in the long term, not in the short. Furthermore, look at trends and voting patterns. You're hoping for the best when there most likely isn't a good outcome in the condoning of illegal immigration.
I am not condoning an illegal invasion. I am saying, in effect, that since an illegal invasion
has already occurred, what is the most practical, feasible, way to soften it's long-term impact on our nation? There is simply no feasible way to deport 6 to 13 million human beings from our shores; it will never happen. To me the best alternative is to ensure that those who want to stay,
and work,
and learn English, and fulfill the great promise of "e pluribus unum", should have some provision made to be able to do so, legally.
By all means, deport the criminals and deadbeats, but don't change the essence of the hope of what America has stood for to waves of immigrants for generations.
