ABC Radio News announced the crash as well along with "unnamed famous person". Of course, I still recall the wonderful tribute ABC Radio News did the day they announced that Bob Hope had died.

Kenyan police deny air crash, say alert caused by security drill,Common mistake. Security drills can very often confuse people into thinking a plane has crashed and 75 people and one unnamed celebrity are dead.
WTF?

Dozens Dead In Airliner Crash
An airliner has crashed at Nairobi Airport killing at least 76 people, according to reports.
But a source from Kenyan police denied the crash had happened, saying the alert had been casued by a major security drill.
"We are in full emergency mode," said an airport security official at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
"It's a large aircraft," said an official in the airport control tower, who declined to be named.
