Sort of the same thing is happening in Maine. The Commissioner (NON-ELECTED official) has decided--all by himself--that he can change the rules as he pleases this new school year. He has gone off the deep end with his new 'rule' and it affects hundreds of homeschoolers. HSLDA and the state support group are in the process of writing up a legislative bill that will do away with his whims and get the homeschoolers a NOTICE OF INTENT bill passed.
Fortunately for Maine we have more than the one option and there are other laws covering homeschoolers. Bottom line is many of these states are not going to stop trying to ban homeschooling or stop trying to regulate it.
