To: Wyatt's Torch
Despite his chosen path, I think more of Lindh's drive and desire to pursue something that he truly believed in whereas most teenagers are vapid myrmidons that don't give a wit about anything.

Well, I'm glad when a teen believes in something, but I'm even gladder when it isn't stupid! Maybe if teens spent more time studying than taking self-esteem classes and watching MTV they could figure out the difference between large holes in the ground and the place Toby Keith is putting his boot.

I agree. However, a suburban kid going to high school and then off to college to learn to be an engineer is far less thought provoking. Sure, I would rather that have happened to Lindh but it is a somewhat intriguing story as to how he got so far away from mainstream America.
