I'm sorry Bob Barr lost, he stayed tough and true through all kinds of democrat battles and constant attacks. I really hope to see him in an important and effective role in the future fighting for conservatism.

I wish I was as optimistic as you for November.
The Dems still could pull out a win. We have got to see that the Repubs gain back the Senate and keep the House.
I am trying to find that thread where a Freeper mentioned how conservatives banded together could manage to afford a tremendous amount of television advertising across the nation.....buying almost every spot until November. This is a great idea but would take a TREMENDOUS amount of dedication. I seem to recall the amount of money it would take to do this as somewhere around a billion dollars. It would take 10 million Americans each donating 100 bucks to reach such a goal.......basically impossible. But boy, it is a dream. Unless of course some conservative billionaire decided to help out...lol.

Go to the "Global Mall" just west of I-85 on Jimmy Carter Blvd.
I'm sure many of the clientele you see there live in the 4th.
(I go there to the LA Fitness)

And the remaining 3 precincts are all in Fulton County. Cobb has shot its was, and accounts for about a third of the total vote. McKinney may win comfortably if the last 3 precincts are poor inner city black precincts.

I would rather not say, but needless to say, it's too much fun for me. This is like getting drunk and riding a ride at Universal Studios. All the fun voting for ElReno and getting to puke at the end.

So little is in play this election, that in the larger scheme of things this coming election is close to irrelevant. The Congress will be narrowly controlled by one party or the other, and it won't make much difference, except for the tone of partisan hearings before the TV cameras, to the extent folks are watching, which they won't be.

Do you know how much that's costing Billy in crack and MD20-20 to get those votes changed? Damn, that's a fortune in that district.

Precincts Reporting: 173 of 174 99%
DENISE MAJETTE 65,402 58%
CYNTHIA MCKINNEY 47,651 42%
C'est fini absolutement.
It looks like Majette got about 30% of the black vote. That is a very fine showing.

The sad part is dad was able to purchase enough voters between 10-11 p.m. to make a race of his re-election. Lot's of lifetime passes on MARTA and free smack for his constituents again...
To: Nuke'm Glowing
No, the district is just heterogeneous. The Dems unpacked the black precincts in their gerrymander, and this is an example of their artwork.

LOL, I know. I grew up there as a kid. I was there for the current Mayor of Houston's reign of terror.

Well, all is not yet lost.
In GA you have to get over 50% of the vote to win without a runoff. The third guy in the race is getting a steady 5%, that'll mean a runoff.
Could get ugly. :-D As for me, I'm going to bed.
Been a great thread. G'night, all.

G'night. Work for the crossover next time, if a run-off.

Precincts Reporting: 20 of 21 95%
Candidate Votes Vote % BILLY MCKINNEY 2,620 50%
JOHN NOEL 2,355 45%
PATRICK STAFFORD 286 5%
On the cusp of avoiding a runoff (about 20 votes short), with one precinct to go. Isn't this fun?

Uh oh. Right after you said that, daddy is up to 50% of the vote.

I'd say the odds are pretty strong Desi's a guy. A guy really in touch with his "inner bitch."Well, I don't really care about Desi's sexuality. I just think anyone who can play "Moulin Rouge" more than once without having their brain explode should be considered suspect. ;)

Unbelievable.Does the Georgia Legislature have any rule similar to the ones in the US House and Senate regarding censure, reprimand or expulsion of duly elected members? Maybe Billy "Hitler" McKinney can get bounced out by his colleagues if he wins.
Not that it really matters. Who gives a fig if some backwards inner-city race-bating goon has a seat in a state legislature. It's just one step up from being on city council. He's harmless.
