I'd submit that you drive far more people away from God with your dark heart, than you could ever hope to bring to him.
Maybe that's why Jesus commanded love, compassion, humility, grace, and peaceful witness.
Just a thought.
Jesus makes a lousy club for an agnostic. If you don't believe in Him, I can't see how you can beat someone about the head and face with Him.
But you are right. This homosexuality=kidnapping is pretty far out there. At some point, you might want to stop beating this dead horse.
Obviously you forget that sexual orientation means sexual orientation, i.e. an orientation that transcends all other personal standards of choice of partner, Nazies and Hitler too had such physical preferences that transcended lifestyles. It's all a matter of defining what is ok. Of course you are on the side of those proselytising the enlightment of homosexuality, which makes you just another one of the hating unappologetic sickos of society.
No, I favor no government involvement in the matter. None. Hope that clears things up for you.
How so? I've opted to keep government out of the matter entirely. I've further stated that the issue doesn't register high on my personal list of offensive activities, mainly because I don't fixate on it.
But I guess he makes a great club for some who claim to believe in him, to pound their "lessers" with.
I guess that was kinda the point huh?
Jesus isn't supposed to be a weapon to beat your neighbors with.
How's things?
"I'd submit that you drive far more people away from God with your dark heart, than you could ever hope to bring to him."
"Maybe that's why Jesus commanded love, compassion, humility, grace, and peaceful witness."
"Just a thought."
If I remember correctly Jesus also said, that anyone who would be saved should come to the father (God) "as a child." Jesus went on to say "Anyone one who hurts one of these (referring to children) it would be better for him, if a millstone were tied about his neck, and he were cast to the bottom of the deepest sea." Personally, I'll stay on the right side of this argument, and defend the children at the expense of pedophiles homosexual and heterosexual.
You're right about one thing. I'm not a good Christian. I'm counting on God's grace for salvation, because I doubt very seriously that I'd make it otherwise. With God anything is possible! It might even be possible for someone as nasty as me to get in to Heaven. Who are you to say otherwise?
I did not say otherwise.
I said that your responsibility as a Christian, is to represent Christ as he instructed you to.
If you want to bring people closer to the teachings (and eventual acceptance) of Jesus Christ, then try to come to grips with who Jesus was. Understand that Jesus Christ was not about "whuppin homo ass" or "slappin whores".
Jesus of Nazareth broke profoundly from the tradition of the rabbis. Rather than spit upon the sinners, he walked among them, and taught, and gave peaceful witness to the glory of his Father in heaven. He did so with genuine concern, humility, grace, compassion, and love, and he commanded that you do likewise.
There is something in the hearts of those who truly revere and follow the teachings of the Nazarene. You can feel it. I know and admire many of them. Not a soft, squishy, la-lala kinda thing... but a profound strength... a palpable peace. Even joy. They are good men.
Do yourself a favor, and get rid of the hardness in your heart. If you wish to bring yourself and others closer to Christ, then do so with peace and gladness.
You'll be glad you did.
Field Hockey?
Idiotic statement, idiotic spelling.
You need to learn to let your emotions cool before speaking. Your attack is nonsensical, full of irrational assumptions made without any evidence.
This is true... but your claim as such raises the question; why, then, do you do it?
None are so blind as those who will not see.
