Those of us who have been privileged to observe George Bush up close -- even as briefly as I have on a few occasions in the past -- know that he is a serious and intelligent man.

I am fortunate in that I've met Bush and have spoken to him several times on the phone. One on one, he may be the best politician alive. He has the ability to convince you that his position is correct, and that you shared it all along.

He knows who he is, where he's headed, how to lead, because he has an Anchor - something many leaders forget when they become powerful.

We can expect greatness when our leader begins each day on his knees in prayer.

Let me jump ahead here for a moment because the President spoke to us briefly afterwards. He was dressed in jeans and a flannel shirt, relaxed and in a good mood.
