The National Education Association is suggesting to teachers that they be careful on the first anniversary of the September 11 attacks not to "suggest any group is responsible" for the terrorist hijackings that killed more than 3,000 people.
Suggested lesson plans compiled by the NEA recommend that teachers "address the issue of blame factually," noting: "Blaming is especially difficult in terrorist situations because someone is at fault. In this country, we still believe that all people are innocent until solid, reliable evidence from our legal authorities proves otherwise."

Whew! This is a major step for the NEA. I thought for sure they would blame America. Kudos to the NEA!

There are an estimated 100 million radical Muslims who take the "death to infidels" passages in the Koran literally. Their violence and murder against non-Muslims is well-documented throughout the world. The NEA would rather hide the brutal truth and risk the death of more innocents than to be politically incorrect.

Educational jihad courtesy of the NEA.

takes a decidedly blame-America approach, urging educators to "discuss historical instances of American intolerance," so that the American public avoids "repeating terrible mistakes."You were kidding, right?

When I first heard about this I decided that I will find out what both my children's teachers will be saying in regards to 911. If they intend to tell any lies about who is responsible then my children will both be staying home with me that day.
They are in 1st and 5th and I dont need the public school teaching them something about 911 contrary to what we have been teaching them all year.
The school will probably have a moment of silence during the morning homeroom and that is fine. The problem is that their are about 30 different classrooms grades k to 5 which is 30 different teachers telling 30 different lies totally screwing up the entire student body.
My children have a very good principal and I hope he intends to set a standard on what the teachers can say and that they all say the same thing.

"... after the NEA received hundreds of calls from parents shortly after September 11 asking the schools to help their children understand what happened."And we wonder why we have a problem? Wish they had received hundreds of calls from prospective parents asking for contraceptive information so that less children would have moronic parents.

But another of the suggested NEA lesson plans compiled together under the title "Remember September 11" and appearing on the teachers union health information network Web site takes a decidedly blame-America approach, urging educators to "discuss historical instances of American intolerance," so that the American public avoids "repeating terrible mistakes."Just another example of leftist propaganda permeating our society.
"The sooner we can mold the 'children's' minds, the sooner they will vote democRATic."
Osama bil Clinton gave a speech at Georgetown a couple of months ago with this exact same theme.

Nothing makes my blood boil more than this group. WHO gives them them the right to determine what will be taught or not. Their left agenda is in every school, from diversity training, earth day nonsense, sex ed, etc. And we the tax payers foot the bill and have no voice in this.

Personally, I think "Why Johnny can't read" is a myth, that is, unless Johnny is learning disabled. Most kids are so curious you couldn't stop them from learning to read if you wanted to. Congratulations to the NEA for taking this bold step -- a giant step toward not repeating the mistakes of the past.

I heard this on the radio coming to work: I'm really glad I don't eat breakfast. Barf Alert should be included for those less fortunate.

Their violence and murder against non-Muslims is well-documented throughout the world. The world largley ignores the violence and murder directed against Muslims by Muslims for the sin of having different opinions.
It's political in Algeria, where more than 100,000 peasants have been slaughtered. These Islamisist murderers make a habit of attempting to kill everything in a village. They don't even shoot them. No, they want it to be personal, so they use knives and clubs. The only offense of the villagers was that they did not actively support the murderers.
I don't even want to go into the wars waged between Sunni, Sufi, Whahabi, etc., such as Iran-Iraq. I think the underlying reason for that war was religous differences.
Most Christians realized that religous wars and violence were counter-productive centuries ago. It only persists in a few places, like Ireland, where the motivation is primarily political.
I think it's time that the Islamic world got over what Mohammed wrote in the fifth century about killing everybody with a contrary opinion.

Time for separation of school and state. Public schools are unconstitutional if the states are bound by the First Amendment: state schools have to take sides on what are essentially religious issues -- once they were surreptitiously least-common-denominator Protestant, now they are surreptitiously secular humanist. A private school can do this without violating the First Amendment. A government school cannot.
