Several years ago I attended a charity luncheon in my city in which she was the speaker. (This was before I found out that she was going to hold a fundraiser for Clinton in the Hamptons, at which point I cancelled my subscription.)

I really was looking forward to hearing how she started her business or how to redecorate or recipes...something like that.

She spent the entire time making nasty comments about her ex-husband. I was not pleased and not only that, the specially-selected menu by Ms. Stewart looked like Klingon food.

My mom tried out her magazine, when it first came out, and on her calendar of things she does, it listed "speaking to Planned Parenthood meeting."

Wierd. She was probably seriously affected by the breakup of her marriage. As one who has walked the same path, I can attest that it is both easy to become mentally twisted about it and important to get one's thinking adjusted in a healthy manner. Funnily enough, she REALLY is quite well known for her " Klingon " food. :-)
