I wish I had been at the FRiva... I have been reading through, and I am able to glean from the thread that a very important message was delivered there, one that I agree with whole heartedly. There are a lot of issues that we, as conservatives, lose because our message is lost in a delivery that repels people. We need very much to learn the positive ways to sell conservatism as a good idea, and forget the tactic of bitter sniping that has become our method.
Bravo! - on learning to sell our vision as attractive to the audience we are trying to convince. Standing outside and shouting about how evil the dems are never won a single vote to our side.
There are topics posted here at FR that make me cringe every time because of the damage they do to our message, abortion and race are among them. We look horrible on many of those threads.
I am in the camp that supports putting pro-life on the back burner. We lose more voters with that one issue than any other. Too many people disagree, and it is a deal-breaker issue more than any other. We would be better to elect people based on all the other conservative values and move forward with the country, than to remain a minority because of it and get nowhere.

I am in the camp that supports putting pro-life on the back burner.Would you feel that way if you knew the majority of voters were pro-life?
