In the newsletter "Sobran's"(8/02), conservative columnist Joe Sobran writes "For Fear of the Jews" which is based upon a speech he delivered last June to the "Institute of Historical Review."
The IHR Web site offers, among other treatises, "a revisionist perspective on a wide range of historical issues including the "Holocaust," Auschwitz, World War II, Hitler, the Palestine/Israel conflict, Zionism, and the "Jewish question."
The Jew obsessed IHR, founded by, among others, accused KGB agent Willis Carto, is at the vanguard of a movement that questions the legitimacy of the Nazi Holocaust against the Jews of Europe.
The IHR challenges the 6 million figure commonly associated with the number of Jews liquidated by the Nazis.
Whether the actual figure was 6 million, 5 million, or, more probably closer to 7 million really misses the central and irrefutable point that the Nazis planned and systematically carried out the genocide.
The fact that over 50 years later people passing themselves off as serious scholars would insist on challenging this historic event is both grotesque and sick.
Joe Sobran, an otherwise serious thinker, must have no idea how hateful and hurtful such disreputable revisionism is to Jews, nor does he probably care

Agreed, but it's just not the Jewish lobby. I have nothing against the Jewish people or Israel per se. The Arab-Palestinian culture is despicable and it is only due to the goodness and mercy of the Jewish state that any Palestinian is still alive. I think Joe Sobran is a wonderful writer. I don't agree with him on all things, but it would be a regrettable mistake to silence his voice.
But take a critical swipe at the Jewish lobby, or the way-less-than-conservative Mr. Bush, or the freedom-threatening War on Terrorism, or any number of hot button isssues, and the psuedo-patriots come out in full force. Oh, they're happy to lambaste Willy Bill Clinton, Hellary, and the rest of the liberal gang, but all of a sudden they lose their appetite for truth when one of their Sacred Cows is threatened. Dissent is becoming persona non-grata here on FR.
Sobran's "intent" is to appeal to you slope-heads, with shoe-size IQs, who buy all of the "JOOS are trying to take over the world," garbage. He knows you're out here, and he's found you.
Oh, you try to hide behind "We have to take an objective look at the Holocaust, especially the numbers," but that's all bullsh*t. We know it, and you know it.
And to think that Howard Phillips, much heralded around here as the Constitution Party Candidate in 2000, took this cretin on as his VP Candidate!

Whether you think he is despicable is irrelevant. His association with them does not disqualify him from questioning the inordinate influence that the Jewish lobby has on American foreign policy in the Middle East. Nor should it diminish the validity of his argument. You would deny him a voice due to guilt by association; hardly the American way of seeing things.
Had a professor in college who translated German lower court decisions from the late 1930s. Nothing political. Run of the mill petty crimes. Can you not present anything to aver that Arabs in Israel are not treated as second-class citizens? Or that Lincoln's primary intent was, actually, to 'free the slaves'? Or perhaps even one undeniably anti-Semitic quote from a member of the staff of IHR?
Or do you simply concede that your every statement on this thread is nothing more than emotional bull-sh*t with no basis other than what you (irrationally, and ignorantly) choose to believe?

We're discussing Sobran, not Lincoln. You seem a bit confused, but that's generally the case with all you old SamFran/Polinco creatures. Let's have a look at what the critter actually said, shall we:

Wow! That didn't take long. 1st post on the article and the 2nd sentence the anti-semite card is played. It is surprising this thread continued as once the card is played as no other dialog is required.
A serious question for those of us who would like an actual debate. Please select from the list below where a discussion regarding our Jewish friends makes the transition from unconditional support to anti-semite as there never seems to be middle ground.
#1: Total support. Can never do anything wrong.
#2: Note that Jews normally vote with the wonderful people on the left.
#3 Question why Jews lean towards the left.
#4 Question why Jews do not support the 2nd amendment.
#5 Include Jews in attacks on the left with the same vigor as we seem to give the Blacks, Hispanics, Union thugs, etc.
#6 Call the Jews the same names we call the groups in #5.
I will not go beyond #6 as I have no use for people that attack Jews beyond this point. However, it seems we have to treat them with extra care when we are in the #3-#6 zone. WHY.
Am I an anti-semite because after watching Fox and Friends every morning I wonder why almost once each 1/2 hour segment there is something about Israel when there is a much larger world out there with many more people. Based upon the knee jerk reaction on the FR to any negative comment regarding the Jewish people I tend to stay out of the discussion as I don't want to play poker when the deck contains only the anti-semite card.
Funny thing--Israel gives Arabs the right to vote, even elect members of the Knesset, while Palestinians in Lebanon are given no rights, not even citizenship, but yet it's Israel that gets trashed, not Lebanon.
Funny thing--even though Sobran is buddies with the IHR (the exchange of articles between Sobran and Mark Weber are a veritable smooch fest), even speaks at their conferences, some of the posters deny he's a Holocaust denier, even while speculating that less than one million Jews were killed in the Holocaust.

Joe Sobran and David Irving don't just come out and say kill all the Jews. This is what the mullahs and Arabs and Nazis do. This is America and the way public anti-Semitism is done is more cleverly than in the past. The sum total of what they write is anti-Semitic. Their motives are anti-Semitic. Just like LarryLied and some other posters here.
I love the JPFO but you know damn well they are but a small percentage of the Jewish people. Of all people on this earth, the Jews should know what danger lurks when you are unarmed.
