CINCINNATI, Ohio (CNN) -- A weekend celebration of African-American families and youth was tainted by a violent outburst late Saturday in a city that was marred by racial tensions and riots over a year ago.
A large crowd of teens leaving a concert organized by the annual Midwest Regional Black Family Reunion Celebration became disorderly, tipping over garbage cans, tables, and chairs at the event on the city's south side, according to Lt. Kurt Byrd, a spokesman for the city's police department.

At least they didnt have a mass shooting like the black family day event in Washington DC two years ago,
at least they didnt have two fatal stabbings like they did at the Memphis black history celebration
at least they didnt have a mother who shot a soccer player over a game in Little Rock at a black summer fest
at least they didnt have an increase of 45% in rapes during spring break in Daytona beach, FL for black fraternity/sorority week in 1998..

Read this so you understand what fine citizens the police have been shooting in Cincy. This summarizes the cases of the men shot over the last several years.
While this latest case is very questionable and deserves a serious investigation, most of these are pretty open-and-shut: Perp actively commits mayham, is challenged by the police, ignores police, perhaps actively assaulting them, perp takes the eternal celestial dirt nap via police action.
And, Oh!, Yeah! - Barry Horstman of the Cincy Post doesn't want you to know this (see the item two lines down).

Yup. I heard that too. The heat did it.

Yeah. Not thuggish yutes lacking proper morals and values. That didn't have a thing to do with it.
More likely it was due to the inherent racism of the event (imagine a "Midwest Regional White Family Reunion Celebration) combined with the violent themes of the rap music concert the teens just left. What a mix! Seems obvious to me - I can't believe anyone would have to speculate about the cause of the rioting. Duh.
Un-frickin' believable. These people create a riot and then "punish" the city through a boycott because of racial tensions they created. Is this mentality the result of public school education or a genetic shortcoming?
Some of us are trying but the hyphenated ones make soooo difficult. So, since they insist, I guess to be politically correct I'll join them.
