Has anyone got a date or book that quote is from? I have heard it many times, but with no location as to where to find it.

I would also suggest that you read Booker T. Washington's book as well "Up From Slavery." A poignant book written by a reamarkable man determined to make something of himself through his own will and character. Faraskum is blubbering, racist fool by any comparison.
