Let me have the privilege of having this thread closed by observing that we all got a very salutary and enlightening lesson into the true nature of the reparations proponents. They're bigots is obvious. And the other conclusion we can all safely draw is that racial healing is not on their agenda. Far from it. The hate-filled content of the diatribes coming from a couple of speakers made it very clear that their aim is to keep the pot of racial resentments simmering forever. Slavery is just an excuse folks. Now that we know who they are we should all concur we need ZERO TOLERANCE for the so called reparations movement in this country. We don't want Robert Mugabe's thuggery here, period. By the way let C-SPAN rerun it: I doubt any one with half a brain will want to watch it after they've already seen who these people are and what they want. In closing, let me say this has been a terrific thread and thanks to every one who shed light on this non-event today.

No you don't. I heartily recommend reading David Blair's new book about this, "Degrees in Violence" - which is the natural conclusion of the kind of politics these demonstrators represent.

I agree 100%. As a matter of fact, I plan on calling my representatives on Monday and giving them an earful. As humorous as this spectacle was, it was also very scarry. I've followed the Mugabe tyranny and have been outraged. These thugs are of the same ilk and need to be shouted down at the very least with a ZERO tollerance attitude, but I'd much prefer to see them arrested for inciting violence.
