Girls With Guns II or Islamonazi Nightmare!

What the Islamonazis seem to fear most is a strong woman. If they can't lock them up at home wearing sack cloth and ashes and make them bow to their every demand, they beat them with sticks or rape and kill them. That is why we in civilization love this sort of thing.

Go get them, Vanessa!

Here is a MUCH bigger picture for those of you who are as enamored of Amn Dobos as I am!

Her eyes alone would make this a great propaganda photo.

I'll bet those young eyes can put some rounds on target, a LOT of rounds.

It is all good for woman's lib, but it is back to beatings and raping when the Pave Hawk gets shot down in one of those friendly Geneva Convention honoring countries.

Pre-9/11, I would have said that women don't belong in combat (or combat support) units. Since then I've had a change of heart. I still have concerns about the physical requirements and unit cohesion, but ANY American who's willing to take the oath, put on the uniform and back it up with their life deserves all the support the rest of us can muster.

I am with you brother. We had a team in Isreal doing some joint traning with the IDF. They were on the Sniper range with the M40A1. This female from the IDF came over with her rifle case and got some looks from the team. They thought of her as a joke. Turns out the log for her sniper rifle had more confirmed kills than our beloved Gysgt Carlos Hathcock. She worked at the wailing wall. I have no problem serving with them, but you still worry about what can happen to your sisters in arms in actual combat.

How long does it take to clean that thing after it fires 27 bazillion rounds in ten minutes?

If I were in a situation where the bullets were flying, I would try to put worry out of my mind and pray for courage, honor and a jam-free weapon, regardless of my sex. Based on what these fellows think of women, I can think of little more disconcerting or demoralizing to them than a confident, well-trained, heavily-armed woman. Payback's a b!tch!

Another Cricket,

I am all for that Airman riding the bird and shooting the gun. Most do not think of the horror or the consequences that females may encounter in combat. I served during the Gulf War. I know what the Iraqi Republican Guard did to a few females that were shot down riding in Medical helos, and the few that were caught behind the lines when the Iraqi Army crossed the border into Khafji, Saudi Arabia.

I was on float in the Persian Gulf in 2001 when W. took over the white house and asked our brave pilots to enter the Southern no-fly zone and take out air defenses that were harrasing the UN sanctioned flyovers. We sat on our taxi cab (navy boat) waiting for retaliation by insane, or the possible beach or helo assault by our unit. I know the risk. I have most likely been serving as long as that Airman has been out of diapers. You fill the body bag, see that pretty girls face. I know that men also die in combat, I know the effects of seeing that trauma. We have just not seen what the effect of females dying along side us would have on the morale of our servicemen. It use to be big news about women wanting to fly fighter jets or wanting to serve on the front lines along the males. You do not hear about that alot now. Maybe because the truth came out during the first Gulf War. We already lost one female Marine During Enduring Freedom. She was a Sergeant assigned to the KC-130 that crashed into a mountain in Afghanistan. I hope you see my point, and understand my sarcasm. I am slated to head over the pond by the end of this year. Maybe I will see her there.

Okay. If I took what you said wrong, and obviously I did, I apologize. I just get miffed at people who put down our people in the military male or female. Especially those on the front lines.

I don't believe standards should be lowered for women but if they can do the job then more power to them.

I think the guys have a tougher time with the "what ifs" then the women themselves do. Maybe it is because women know that that is a possibility no matter if they are in combat or not.

Vanessa is trained and armed. That gives her a fighting chance. One part of me is screaming that she shouldn't be put at risk like that. The other part of me is pointing out that if we lose this thing what could happen to her will happen to a lot of women. And they won't have a fighting chance.

While you are over there don’t forget to dunk, eh?

I hope you see my point

I do see your point and it is well taken. But one of the things that separates us from the "Islamonazis" is that women, in our country, are free to choose their course in life, even if it means they might fall in harm's way. Given that they meet the requirements for their position and understand the risks, should they be denied based solely on their sex?

During the gulf war, I believe twenty-one females died during in-direct combat. two became POW's. I cannot remember the names, but I do remember the stories, as told by one to congress. Three female Marines were awarded the Combat-Action Ribbon. You must come under fire, and return fire to receive this award. They are true patriots. It is hard, as a Marine, and the father of three, yes, three girls to think that it could come to the point of females taking up combat roles. I am glad that my girls will not have to register at 18 for the Armed Forces Selection Board. If they decide to join the military, so be it. It is just hard to kick the old pig out of this war machine.

I still don't think that women can make it as grunts. But
all you need to be an ariel gunner is good eyesight, so that's a good spot for her.

And I agree this picture would be good psyops against
any of the goofies over in the Middle East!

I agree with your perspective. Men and women have differnt life missions programmed deep within themselves.

Men - A battle to fight. An adventure to live. A beauty to rescue.

Women - A desire to be fought for. An adventure to share. A beauty to reveal.

To ignore this is to create a legacy of maladjustments and the attendant repercussions.
