Ok. My thought is that Bush should avoid appointing anyone who is a firebrand on this issue. It requires the kind of sophistication and nuance that would enrage you probably. And of course, unless there are employer sanctions, which won't happen, rooting out and stopping illegals is a largely futile exercise except at the margin.

Me am enraged?

I don't mind if someone lower profile comes in and starts getting the job done. Nor do I want a militarization of the issue in any case. I agree on the need for enforcement of employer sanctions, as one of a number of means of addressing the matter.

Since you don't think that will happen, do I understand correctly that you feel Bush ought to appoint someone who will maintain the status quo, just going through the motions?
