Not so fast, Askel; don't be unfair. We're yet not done with this connoisseur of high humor. Besides, this is a public forum; we should be talking things over. Well, here I am waiting for somebody, anybody, to ask stanz why a sex stunt in the cathedral is funny. I know, I know: "we murder to dissect" -- but am I the only one who cares about the etiology of stanz's sense of humor?

So tell me, stanz: What made the stunt funny? Was it funny because it was a sex act (though not according to BJ Clinton, of course)? Does the thought of sex always make you smirk and giggle? Or was it funny because it was in church? Churches are just naturally funny, perhaps, or else the uptight prigs our lovers-from-Virginia met there? Possibly it was funny because of the incongruity: something forbidden going on in a sacred space. Was that it? In terms of funniness, how does that rank with, say, burning down a synagogue, or pissing on the Constitution, or crapping on the flag? It's a question you should be asking yourself, because if you should happen to come home one day and find your house fouled by teenagers seeking to drive you out of your neighborhood, or if you were to pick up the paper and read that your mother had been raped, you'd have to know just how hard to laugh about this funny old world and the madcap things people will do for attention.

I'm going to tune into Jay Leno tonight and get his take on this.

Or maybe it's no more than this: is it funny because a clown on the radio told you so, and you're waiting to see how you must adjust your perceptions based on a superior clown's infallibility (a word you should know, having been raised Catholic and all)?

I ask only for information.

Nice, Romulus.

As for me, I'm just waiting for the latest poll of the 'Merican People so I know whether to think this was out of line or not.

Let's see...you covered all the bases. Why was it amusing? It was just an irony...that's all. Since you are so knowledgeable about all angles, I don't have to explain why I thought it was ironic. You already know that.(and I have already stated it on countless occasions.) Since you have designated me a connoisseur of humor, you must definitely be of similar bent. It takes one to know one, isn't that the old adage? Therefore, you must think it was amusing, too, or you wouldn't state that you were the only one who cared about the etiology of my sense of humor.
At any rate, we can both listen to Jay tonight and see what he has to say about it. Then we can compare notes on his humor (unless you think that is too plebeian, Romulus.)

Yes, why is intentionally offending others in their place of worship a funny thing? I would also be interested in your answer to that.
