A Virginia couple was arrested in New York City Thursday for public lewdness ...

They ought to consider also tacking on a charge of "Penal Law § 240.21 Disruption, or disturbance of religious service""

A person is guilty ...who makes unreasonable ...disturbance while at a lawfully assembled religious service or within one hundred feet thereof, with intent to cause annoyance or alarm or recklessly creating a risk thereof Aggravated disorderly conduct is a class A misdemeanor.

It sure sounds like they were recklessly creating a risk of disruption to me.

And to think, they passed up an opportunity to gross out Big Brother by "doing it" in front of one of NYC's security cameras...

"..."Unbelievable," said New Yorker Ren Brown. "I try not to judge, but that's just going too far." ...

While the act of desecration described in the article desrves a lot of comment---the above statement by a scandalizedCatholic is worth a great deal of consideration by Catholics who are wondering what has happened to our Church. It's a sliver of light slanting across the whole horrifying desecration by fops, feminists, philosophical flatulents, flimsy pseudo-men---the whole host of f****rs who are getting it on, one way or another, in the pews, the aisles, the chanceries, the schools, the universities and in the seminaries.

It's consciousness-raising time and I am grateful you took the time to post this consciousness-raising article.

A Catholic Church--a famous, historical spot--was chosen for a reason. Scavengers and predators survive because they choose their targets wisely--rationally. It should make Catholics think long and hard about the fact that, from a modern American pop-culture standpoint a Catholic Church would be a rational choice for pop-desecration.

I'm not Catholic, but I've had occasion to attend Mass and I'm fairly certain that that's not how you're supposed to exchange the sign of peace.

1. Prostitution is generally regulated by state law. New York State Penal Law Section 230.25 makes it a Class D felony when someone "knowingly advances or profits from prostitution by managing, supervising, controlling or owning ... a prostitution business or enterprise ". To knowingly advance or profit from prostitution is a class A misdemeanor under Section 230.20.

2. Federal RICO statutes make it illegal to act in concert with other people or organizations to promote prostitution in violation of state law.

The DA's should prosecute this as a RICO case in Federal Court...A sexual act for profit and a violation of the Mann Act.

Try making a judgement dude.

Whipping would be a suitable punishment for these animals. Jail is too good for these dogs.

A Virginia couple was arrested in New York City Thursday for public lewdness after allegedly having sex in St. Patrick's Cathedral as part of a radio stunt that outraged parishioners and church officials.

I really can't see why church officials would be outraged.

From all reports, this has been going on for years... maybe hundreds of years.

And after all, in this case, it was heterosexual, and between consenting adults!!

Nothing to worry about.

Oh---slapping forehead---I forgot to ask: Did the enterprising couple use a condom?

The answer to this question could mean the difference between jail or an award ceremony at the mayor's mansion (complete with book deal and movie rights as well as an appearance on Oprah and an invitation to address the General Assembly of the United Nations on the socio/economic prospects of condomless continents and the role of the Catholic Church in fostering condomlessness!)

Slouching toward Gomorrah. Years ago I was in a niteclub listening to the featured comedian and to this day I regret that I did not stand up and tell him that enough was enough. I did not defend my catholic faith from stupid, not so funny one liners. My failing. Not his.

Gee -- how about this for "entertainment?? Listeners could gain "points" for giving the two punks Opie and Anthony a beating -- Knee caps could be 25 "points"; a busted lip 10 "points", etc.

Loretta Lynn Harper, 35, of Alexandria, Va., and her boyfriend, Brian Florence, 37, of Quantico, Va....

Their parents must be so proud to have their children's names plastered all over the media in connection with this disgusting stunt. "Hey Mr. Harper, isn't that woman who got caught having sex in a church your daughter?"

We need a constitutional amendment re-establishing public whipping, dunking stools and pillories. This will effectively handle this type of conduct. I am especially partial to the pillory when the perps ear is nailed to the stake and he stands there for five to six hours. Such punishment implicitly states: 'since you do not listen to our laws(statutory, common and customary)this nailing will help you hear better.'
