No point at all...

Are you suggesting that because Lewes was well read, intelligent, and capable of reading Ancient Greek, that therefore his word is absolute? Seems a little presumptious in my book...

"it would have been better if the two lovers weren't caught."

Lovers? I don't know what they were motivated by, but I guarantee you that love didn't have a thing to do with it.

I've read both Aristotle and Aquinas.

And you don't believe in God? What didn't you get?

The connection involves sex - - both the scandalous kind that is perpetrated in secret and against the wishes of those involved and the lurid kind by consenting partners which makes a mockery of love and renders the act as dirty and sordid. Both types affect the persons taking part and the community in which they take place.

Notice the guy's in Quantico. Wanna go for a drive?

Sure, after the police turn him loose, and also after I find out whether he's a Marine.

In your opinion it was crude, and thus you felt it was necessary to complain. The post wasn't out of context based on the original comment made by stanz. I guess I should have posted a private reply. However, I find it interesting that the vitriol spewed about Islam on this site regularly (all of which I agree with BTW) is tolerated, but some off color comments or jokes about about the Catholic Church are grounds for censorship. Can someone explain that to me? By the way, I respect your right to be offended. Just remember, umpopular speech has a righ to be heard too

What rules did I break? Rules that are very selectively enforced?

I just wrote a letter to WNEW-FM telling them that it is time for Opie and Anthony to take a long hiatus from the radio.

Do you know if there is a petition going around to send to their network?

Oh, Gee, I dunno! Why don't you ask the AdminModerator who yanked your offending post?

"Reading through comments here, I cannot believe any connection would be made between the church's internal problems and a pair of rutting animals who took up a radio station on a dare. One has absolutely nothing to do with the other."

Agreed... but then again, we have to expect this anytime the word "Catholic" is used. What some don't understand is that St. Patrick’s was only the scene of the crime... This was an attack on every religion, everywhere. It was an attack on the very fiber of civilization in that it proclaimed that NOTHING IS WORTHY OF RESPECT... NOTHING.

Yes, but would it have been pulled if someone didn't complain? If I complain about a post, is it automatically pulled to spare my feelings? Give me a break. The post contained no profanity. It poked fun at the homosexual tendencies of some Catholic priests. A tendency which can't be denied by even the most devout Catholic. I just wish people weren't so sensitive. Suck it up, say the joke wasn't funny, and drive on with your airborne mission instead of complaining to the mommy moderator

Way to go, there, ijcr. This thing is building.

The disgusting duo of radio personalities of Opy and Anthony behind this went on the air about a half an hour ago. Totally cowering now because their lawyers have told them to shut up. I honestly believe they are afraid their contracts will be voided or they will lose their jobs. Amazing the difference a day can make. Yesterday frollicking on the air, encouraging the payment of sex acts and then re-broadcasting them on air, laughing about the acts being successfully pulled off in a church, and now today they are like whipped puppies with their tails between their legs.

Ramp up full force for a mega freep and let's get these scum kicked off the air and their contracts' voided. They will turn on each other when money is involved; the broadcaster will only support them to a point. The FCC, the criminal investigative divisions in NYC, etc. are all the appropriate pressure points. Good point about conspiracy and RICO, too.

If I read the article correctly, there was a running commentary by a radio personalitity. At least the few people who were listening to the program knew about it.

Your comment reminds of a an old saying, "You can judge a man's character by what he does when no-one is watching. I guess you figure if you are sneaky enough everything is ok.

I just wrote a letter to WNEW-FM telling them that it is time for Opie and Anthony to take a long hiatus from the radio.

That is precisely the WRONG thing to do.

Continued outrage over this incident is what these stations want. They'll take RATINGS wherever they can get them.

There's a movie being released in Mexico this weekend showing a priest having sex with a woman. The Catholic Church has demanded that THE GOVERNMENT shut the movie down. All this has done is guarantee a huge box office for the weekend.

Stanz was off topic and you knew that before you joined her. You just saw it as a good oportunity to get in a joke.

I find it interesting that the vitriol spewed about Islam on this site regularly (all of which I agree with BTW) is tolerated, but some off color comments or jokes about about the Catholic Church are grounds for censorship.

I did not complain about your "joke" for the reason of it's Catholic content but rather for the crude language and child sodomy and the fact that it was off topic and was posted just to agitate others. Again I am not Catholic.

Just remember, umpopular speech has a righ to be heard too.

Quit whining about not having free speach. You made no point or comment, you just posted a stupid crude joke.
