I'm not accusing him. I was surprised that he went to med school in Zimbabwe. Doesn't seem that would be a first choice!

My unlearned take on this guy is that he is a white guy coming up at a time in Africa ( like today) when white guys got the royal shaft and had to get what schooling he could anywhere he could even if on the fly...I think also he was always a gifted and talented person who didn't have the luxury of being sent to Eton or Haaaavaaaad for his leisurely doctorate; that was reserved for black Africans. My first swimming coach was from Rhodesia. He was a great guy yet his family had been run out of the country and their tobacco farming opeeration confiscated. My take is that Hatfill had to scrape for every single privilege he got while far less talented people just broke line. We have all seen it. I don't know if he is guilty or innocent. I suspect he is innocent. He is a natural target for the secret police here ( fbi) because he is an individual who can DO things rather than just stand in line and bleat like the rest of the flock. The fbi is definitely MANUFACTURING whatever they want against him. That should not surprise you as all secret police ( gestapo, nkvd, kgb, gru) do the same thing.

I believe Hatfill's family had roots in Rhodesia.

At first blush, it seems odd, yes. But there was a good reason for him to matriculate there.
