IMHO whites are more accepting of the 'small government' argument. The minorities have seen government largesse for a couple of generations and don't have the intrinsic distrust (of government, not necessarily law enforcement/etc) of big government. I think he's wrong about the blacks and a large part of the Hispanic community tho. I have seen (especially in the last 5-10 years) a number of blacks getting more successful and conservative (paying taxes out the wazoo sux bigtime...) He is right about the immigration issue overall. Some groups are *not* assimilating, don't *want* to assimilate and *will not* assimilate. What to do then? We are in a recession, the immigrants are for the most part unskilled and uneducated. 100 years ago they could have found decent blue collar jobs that could support a family and rise to the middle class, perhaps even send a son or two to college or technical school. Not so now, most of our blue collar manufacturing jobs are gone. 100 years ago there WAS no welfare or food stamps. They either 'made it' or they went home. Now they just stay and go on welfare/food stamps. Not good.
