May I say something about Ann Coulter? She is a half-wit, a termagant, a dimwit, a blowhard, a worthless silicone nothing, physically ugly and could be likened to Eva Braun, who was Hitler's mistress. As it happens, these are all descriptions or characterizations Coulter uses for others in her book, "Slander." It ought to be called "Mirror."

I didn't know Cohen was still around.
Anyway, his crybaby swipes at Ann betray his jealousy of her success, her sharp wit and her youth and beauty. Hahaha... Just think about these two writers side by side for a minute and compare - - a washed-up '60s liberal who hasn't had a fresh thought in twenty-five years versus a brilliant and beautiful lawyer with a knee-buckling smile and millions of dollars. Cohen is just hanging around, bored to tears with life and trying to meet deadlines while he scratches off lottery tickets. His time is long past, and he is now only a bitter shell of a man who will forever wring his hands in the knowledge that his brand of liberalism nearly destroyed a great nation with its relentless attack on the traditional American family, and its pursuit of mediocrity in the guise of "equality" and socialism. What a worthless scumbag.
Go away already, Cohen. Just go away.

Cohen is just another Clinton butt boy.

Man, he was using that picture years ago when I used to still see his column around from time to time.
Wonder what the washed-up old fart looks like now?
To: kennyo
It would be interesting to see how the liberals act if we stopped trying to reason with them and just resort to schoolyard taunts to make them look more childish.

Nothing infuriates the liberal Brahmans like dissent amongst the hoi polloi.

Here is part of my response, as soon as I can get his e-mail (his comments in italics):
In fact, you can look up almost anything you want in this book. It has 780 footnotes and makes frequent references to LexisNexis, the computerized research service. The effect is to give the book a scholarly air, but the method is to cast as wide a net as possible for every idiotic remark made by anyone -- and I do mean anyone -- on the left or who happens to be pro-choice or, worse, a feminist.
And how many of these "idiotic remarks", as you call them, have been retracted? Ms. Coulter's point is that people on the left use such statements to demonize and dehumanize conservatives. It's not her fault that there's so much evidence...
This may explain how Coulter came up with a really tolerant way of dealing with the Islamic world: "We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity," she wrote last fall in her National Review Online column. For some reason, the intolerant National Review fired her.<
Actually, I believe she wrote this about those who celebrated the September 11th attacks on the U.S., not the Islamic world as a whole. Sloppy, sloppy...
If, as Coulter says, liberals control the media and much of the animal and plant kingdoms, then how is it that the president du jour and others of recent times -- Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Bush the Elder -- happen to be conservatives? I must be missing something here.<
Here's what you're missing: Ms. Coulter only writes that these comments were spoken or written. She does not say that anyone to the right of Paul Wellstone actually believed them...
Such harrumphing says something not only about Coulter but about her audience. Who are the people who read such tripe,<
Besides you, right?
who listen to talk radio and its chorus of conservatives (nary a liberal on the air) and who buy books such as the one under examination today?<
Ah, it's not enough to attack Ms. Coulter, you insist upon assassinating the character of her readers. Tripe? Listen to talk radio? "Who are these troglodytes?", you scream.
What explains their rage and, while I am asking questions, could you think of another commentator -- especially one on the left -- who could have written what Coulter did about Muslims and go on to bestsellerdom?<
Right, commentators on the left usually reserve such remarks to describe conservatives, as Ms. Coulter has so meticulously documented. For example, Julianne Malveaux wishes death upon Clarence Thomas, and she gets a gig as a pundit on CNN. A conservative commentator circa 1985 who spoke in a similar manner about Thurgood Marshall would have been out of the business forever.
Being conservative is like being criminally insane: You can't be held accountable.<
It depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is, pal...
She is the master of the half-fact and the semi-story. She blames the liberal press for not revealing that Bob Packwood was forever hitting on his female staffers, but then neglects to mention it was the odiously liberal Washington Post that broke the story. She uses David Brock's book on Anita Hill to skewer Clarence Thomas's critics, but fails to mention that Brock himself renounced the book.<
Her point about Packwood is that the story was known throughout Washington, but so long as a liberal vote was needed (a kind that Packwood usually would supply on key issues), the press kept the story under wraps. When he became expendable, down the hatch.
As for Brock, it should be remembered that initially, he was refused TV access because a contrary point of view could not be found, but once he renounced, all the networks gladly had him on for interviews with no contrary point of view. This is similar to the Judicial Watch situation: those "right-wing crazies" who "relentlessly hounded the Clinton administration" became a "public interest group" when they sued Vice President Cheney.
Ah, but I am one of the people she skewers -- maybe one of the "pathetic little parakeet males" who are always liberals. (For some reason, Coulter has a need to question the manliness of liberals;<
Is this like all those (left-wing) pundits who insist that Clarence Thomas isn't REALLY black?
against all evidence, she even refers to Bill Clinton as "IMPOTUS.")<
IMPOTUS means IMpeached, not IMpotent. You do realize that, right?
And yet, some of what she writes about me is true. I have not always been wise (pp. 16, 60-61,128,149,185) and at times I have strayed from liberal orthodoxy (pp. apparently edited from the manuscript).<
This is why I send this e-mail. You have the capacity to be thoughtful and intelligent in your columns. This one, however, is a clunker.
See, Ann, liberals can be compassionate.<
If not factually accurate.
Cordially,
(adingdangdoo)

Still looks like some g-d-dam liberal college professor.
Why do these superannuated '60's dinosaurs insist on the derigueur get-up of trimmed beard, teeny eye-glasses and fashionable "do"? Hipness is everything to these people. They all have to look the same, think the same and spew the same boiler-plate mantra. G-d forbid that one of the "hive" should dare utter a heretical thought.
Pod people, indeed!
