It's nobody else's business, so long as abortion is legal, except perhaps that of the family's religious counselor (priest or minister, as an example).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds as if you're saying that if a girl sued her parents in court for the right to have her baby, the court should wash its hands of it and tell her that, as long as she's a minor, it's none of their business to interfere with her parents' wishes as long as their demands are legal.

I'm certainly no expert in this area, but somehow I think this goes beyond the spirit of notification requirements. It seems to me that the purpose of the notification requirement is to make sure that they parents have some say, not to give them the final say, one way or the other.

Didn't mean to suggest that a girl shouldn't be able to go to court to have her baby - she should. (And I would hope the court would rule in favor of granting her child's life.) But this is no business of a public school or of Planned Parenthood. They should have absolutely NOTHING to do with this. They are not empowered by the Constitution to involve themselves in this in any way.

What can we do to stop Planned Parenthood??

One specific thing people might want to do is donate to PACs that reflect their views.

Selecting a PAC can be difficult to do, because it can be very hard to measure how effective the PAC is with donor money. It's often "buyer beware."

A quick web search just now turned up these PACs: RNC For Life and NRLC. They might be a place to start.

THe first principle of law must be the support of right order. In the case where such order is in danger of being violated (abortion) and in the case where the other 'right order' (parental authority) is secondary, and IN PARTICULAR the case where such authority violates the first principle of right order (the sanctity of life), intervention is not only warranted but mandated.

FYI: NRLC is good, but they support "exceptions" to the abortion ban (rape, incest, "health of the mother.") Best anti-abortion organization is American Life League. No exceptions, no how, no way.

NRLC exception #3 should read "LIFE of the mother."

As you know, such situations are extremely rare and can be resolved utilizing the principle of double effect. However, the science has advanced to the degree that this 'exception' is becoming almost extinct.

I agree, Ninenot. What I was saying is that parents have a right to counsel their children with regard to contraception, sexual issues and abortion. Schools and independent agencies (Planned Parenthood) should not. But I do believe that a child who wants to have a baby should not be prevented from doing so, even by her parents.

We must expose and defund Planned Parenthood -- who gets 1/3rds of its income from us!! We must protect our children and grandchildren from an agency that doesn't respect the sanctity of life in the womb and the life of our families.

Life Dynamics and Priests for Life are collaborating on a project which can block Planned Parenthood's access to schools, and therefore to a large portion of their funding.

The project builds on the evidence that abortion facilities nationwide break the law by failing to fulfill their duty as mandated reporters when they know or suspect that a minor is having sexual activity.

Any school district that refers students to Planned Parenthood therefore can incur legal liability. Every school district has been alerted to this liability via certified mail. Now, we are asking taxpayers to attend their local school board meetings and request an explanation of the school district's policy on this matter.


We are not asking people to make a moral or religious argument against Planned Parenthood or its activities. We are simply requesting that they ask the School Board how it is protecting itself against the liability that can result from negligent referral, and more fundamentally, how it is protecting our children. Schools and taxpayers will naturally be averse to legal and economic liability. Our goal is to persuade them that associating with Planned Parenthood is more trouble than it is worth.

We need

a. people in every school district who can go to the school board meetings;

b. attorneys who can assist people in articulating the school district's legal liability.

We will provide

a. the specific questions that need to be asked at the school board meeting;

b. ongoing training, coordination, and encouragement.
