FAMILIES OF AMERICAN TERROR VICTIMS IN ISRAEL LASH OUT AT BUSH SNUB

Tue Aug 13 2002 20:25:00 ET

Distraught relatives of American students killed in a bomb attack at Israel's Hebrew University are furious they haven't heard from President Bush or anyone else at the White House, the WASHINGTON POST is planning to report on Wednesday, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

One sister of a bombing victim tells Lloyd Grove of the POST, according to insiders, how Sen. Ted Kennedy and Sen. Hillary Clinton have both reached out personally to express their condolences; while Bush has done nothing.

Another angry family member fumed in a fax to the president: "The 9 miners who were trapped underground for 72 hours were rescued... A few days later you went to their celebration party... My cousin was murdered and you didn't even make a phone call or write a letter to her family."

Bush did make several public statements expressing anger over the five American deaths.

If I were a grieving family member it just wouldn't occur to me to be angry at President Bush. If I worked for a large news organization it just wouldn't occur to me to report on such a thing.... It just smacks of disrespect, like something a tacky gossip columnist would do....
Oh, I see this is about a Grove piece as reported by Drudge... 'nuff said.

Because what you are demanding is easier said than done. How is the USA supposed to find the Palestinians responsible for the university bombings? Knock on doors and ask?

You demand results without thinking of how to achieve them. You're not thinking of anything. That's the problem.

George W. Bush is the President of the United States, not the official mourner. Get a life.

Go in and take out some Palestinian terrorists with American forces

Can IDF come into America and take out some Al Qaeda responsible for the death of Israelis during 9/11? Do you believe in borders and sovereignty?

Um, didn't I read a story that said the President called all the families immediately after the attack took place?

As I stated in my post, Michigan has more Arabs than any other state. Figure it out. And between that and your posting history, if it walks like a duck...

It's pretty foolish to be in Isreal right now in the first place. Maybe Bush should express his regret that these families were silly enough to send their children there in the first place.

There is a never ending line of apologists ready to defend inaction and that is why nothing is ever done right. Somebody knows what happened. In all likelyhood ALOT of people know who set the bomb. We're supposedly in this war against terror and yet Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, ect., are still calling the shots and we're still handling them with kid gloves.

Ya, you're right, they're so foolish for being at the wrong place at the wrong time and getting blown up. In fact the Israelis are foolish for being in Israel as well. Why are they there in the first place? We should all send our regrets about everything in general. Terrorists?? What are terrorists??? Oh those peaceful Palestinians...Those darn silly American fools shouldn't have been where the terrorists didn't want them to be!! < /sarcasm >

There is a never ending line of idealists ready to demand the impossible and that is why nothing is ever done to their satisfaction.

You act as if Bush doesn't care. That's demonstrably false. I think we can trust the Israelis to handle this one. They have a stake in this, too, I believe.

By that logic, since there was a terrorist attack on the WTC a number of years ago people should never have gone to work there again. But nobody would be stupid enough to make that argument.

Get real. None, now or in the future, of American who died in Afghanistan, or later in Iraq will be Jews. No people, in thousand of years have ever died or paid, or served or protected the Jews like goy Americans. Stuff it. Every Israelis and Jew should get down on their knees and kiss Bush's feet. Israel exist, only because of America, and not because of leftist or finger snapping step-and-fetch it domestic Jews, but because of goys. Tell these low rent, no accounts to stuff it.

These expectations are a result of eight years of crying at the drop of a hat (or skirt), and the culture of grieving that we've developed (Diana, Aliayhahyahia...whatever, roadside memorials, etc). People now insist on making a spectacle of themselves while grieving, except for Danny Pearl's parents...all class. Whatever happened to grieving in private, and if these truly unfortunate folks are angered at the president, why don't they express that privately? It may sound callous, but I believe the survivors want it to be about them, not the deceased.
