FAMILIES OF AMERICAN TERROR VICTIMS IN ISRAEL LASH OUT AT BUSH SNUB

Tue Aug 13 2002 20:25:00 ET

Distraught relatives of American students killed in a bomb attack at Israel's Hebrew University are furious they haven't heard from President Bush or anyone else at the White House, the WASHINGTON POST is planning to report on Wednesday, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

One sister of a bombing victim tells Lloyd Grove of the POST, according to insiders, how Sen. Ted Kennedy and Sen. Hillary Clinton have both reached out personally to express their condolences; while Bush has done nothing.

Another angry family member fumed in a fax to the president: "The 9 miners who were trapped underground for 72 hours were rescued... A few days later you went to their celebration party... My cousin was murdered and you didn't even make a phone call or write a letter to her family."

Bush did make several public statements expressing anger over the five American deaths.

Saddam Hussein, a more dangerous enemy to Israel than Hamas or Arafat has taken to the bunkers and is shitting in his pants. Does that qualify?

How's that relevant to the bombing that resulted in dead Americans?

President Bush is President of America. Israel is a sovereign nation responsible for those within its borders. Do you want President Bush to annex Israel and handle Hamas or should that be left to Sharon?

???? I am not talking about dead Israelis, I am talking about dead *AMERICANS*.

The Palies said they were going to attack Americans, wherever they could. Now, they have murdered Americans in Jerusalem. Where is the American retaliation?

I think a good target would have been those 10,000 Palies celebrating the murder of Americans. That would wipe their sick grins off their faces.

Americans are killed over 1500 times each year so why do you put more value on an American Jew---Why ?

I must've missed something. 1500 americans are killed by terrorists each year? Is this what you are saying? Why? Amercian is American and just because they were Jews killed in Israel you want the President to pander to them?

That's right. American is american and I think that condemning (verbally) terrorists who kill americans is not enough. What do you think?

In the last 20 years, we have had Americans killed in terrorist bombings in Greece, Germany, France, Spain, Britain, Ireland, and various countries in South America.

To the best of my recollection, we allowed the countries in which these acts occurred to handle aprehending and dealing with the terrorists, because they are sovereign nations. Why is this different?

Are you denying that they didn't have KNOWLEDGE of what might happen if they went there? Or is that something you'd conveniently like to ignore.

Didn't several countries (Japan comes to mind) issue warnings to its citizens after 9/11, against traveling to USA.. Does that mean that a Japanese tourist who, God forbid, dies in any future terrorist acts had it coming?

This is very different. Are we not sending $$$ to these very palestinians who name their (built with our $$$)schools after these very suicide bombers who kill americans? See it now?

You:

From leftist journalists?? This is evident! It's business as usual. Tell me, what would be different today if palestinians did not murder americans in the Israeli university? *NOTHING* Do you really think anyone is shaking in their boots because of the same tired statement Bush gives regarding palestinian terrorism?

Me:

Saddam Hussein, a more dangerous enemy to Israel than Hamas or Arafat has taken to the bunkers and is shitting in his pants. Does that qualify?

You:

How's that relevant to the bombing that resulted in dead Americans?

Am I wrong or were you not saying that Bush is doing nothing in the War on Terrorists?

When they killed our men in Saudi at Khobar Towers, did you want us to invade Saudi?

When they killed our sailors in Yemen, did you advance the cause for an invasion of Yemen to exterminate the cockroaches?

Africa?

Somalia?

I am consistent. I want Bush to get all the bastards responsible for the murders of Americans and I have been consistent for the last decade in that regard independent of geography. But you will have to understand that despite the grief and outrage you feel at the killing of Americans in Israel, this is neither the time nor the place for American troops.

What a crock of bullsh*t!!! Israel has never had a better friend than Bush.

These were not Israelis who died. They were Americans.

Sorry to say, it's not BS. If I remember my political history correctly, it was Nixon's refusal to meet with black groups that cost the GOP dearly -- Kennedy swept the votes of African Americans and they've been in the dim's pocket ever since. Bush shouldn't blow this chance to move the Jewish vote for what amounts to just a PR call. Call it pandering and lip service if you will, but that appears to be what politics is all about in the USA. He should do whatever possible to move Jewish votes to the GOP. Esp in Florida!

You have to remember that the Post Toasties are mostly liberal Democrats who hate Dubya. They're only interested in "gotchas".

Case in point: a couple of weeks ago, Postie Mike Allen allowed Bill the Magnificent an unquestioned soapbox to spew his lying bile in an accusation against George Bush Sr., trying to hang responsibility for the Somalia "Black Hawk Down" debacle on Bush. One of the fathers of the Rangers involved in the action totally rebutted the lie.

Reaction from Mike Allen? Total silence. The Washington Post would rather publish the words of a known liar than the words of the father of an American hero. Period.

Will Bush calling them make them feel better? Will it bring thier loved ones back?

That's not the question. The question is, will it help move votes to the GOP?

True. All the more reason not to give them an opening.

If a some Americans of Italian descent were the unfortunate victims of a terrorist attack in Rome, I wonder all Italians in America would be demanding that Bush do something violent in response.

Actually, no I don't. They wouldn't.

Nor do I think you'd be having this same reaction if the dead were Irish-Americans in Belfast. Am I wrong?

Me: Palestinian scum killed Americans. We should do more then just condemn it verbally. You: Saddam is more of a threat to Israel then Hamas.

Am I wrong or were you not saying that Bush is doing nothing in the War on Terrorists?

Double negative, thus correct. I was not saying that Bush is doing nothing on War on terrorists. Tell me this ,though. Why are we pussy footing with pallies?

When they killed our men in Saudi at Khobar Towers, did you want us to invade Saudi?

Do I want us to invade Israel? How about cutting aid? You are aware of the fact that they just named a school which was financed with our $$$ after a suicide bomber?

When they killed our sailors in Yemen, did you advance the cause for an invasion of Yemen to exterminate the cockroaches?

Did I advance the case for an invasion of Arafatistan? Where are you getting this from?

I don't understand what the relationship of providing aid is to our responsibility to respond in this situation. The Israelis not only can handle this, they can handle it far better than we can. We don't have anything like Mossad in place there.

Why don't you trust the people who can do the job best to do it? We haven't solved the terrorist anthrax attacks in this country in over 10 months. How on earth are we supposed to solve one in the West Bank in two weeks?
