What color paint? Oil or water based? Color of carpet? Type of carpet fiber; olefin, acrylic, nylon, or some combo? How much per yard did you pay for it will give me an idea of the fiber type.

Oh, I feel for you. Samwise Junior left her red pen out where her puppy could get it. He chewed it up and had red ink all over the berber carpet and the wallpaper. I was livid. Don't give up. We finally got all the ink out. We sprayed the carpet with Woolite pet stain remover, and then just blotted and blotted until we couldn't blot anymore. Everytime we did it, the ink faded. We just kept at it. When it was pale pink, it squirted the Oxyclean on it and let it set for a while. Then we blotted again. We finally got it all out. It was a lot of work, but we really didn't want to buy a new carpet.
