Sorry for the curve I threw you. The first Darrin was, by far, the better.
To: OldBlondBabe
I did. The white chick looks like Zelda Gilroy. What a pair of airheads.

THAT'S THE WINNER!!!!
Carrot Top the most annoying TV personality since ROSIE.
Acutally, Rosie should be the winner if you thing about it.
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
She seems to be one of those victims of anorexia, starving herself to be slim enough. I sure hope not. :^(
I blame it on Callista Flockhart!
Kate Moss and Laura Flynn Boyle can share some of it too.

Couple more: Shell Oil commercial with the chick asking about the differences in gas and if it's all just marketing... and the Nautilus sleep system with the "face people" enjoying their bed... notice how fit and trim they are! Same as the Bowflex! Now, what they need to show is some guy not with six-pack abs, but kegger abs, doing the Bowflex. Show me that I can do it, not some muscle-bound weight-lifter!

I'm one of the few people who actually like the Dell kid and the Geico gecko.
The Carl's Jr. ads are nauseating. I can't believe those ads would actually make someone WANT one of those burgers!
I hate the commercials with the little kids selling fruit juice. (I don't remember the product name, which is probably further proof of how bad the ads are.) I hate commercials with kids who are supposed to be oh, so adorable and precocious, but just come off as annoying or smart-alecky.

The first Darrin was, by far, the better. Yup, due in no small part to the way he could make his eyes bulge. His was a career cut tragically short.

That one guy on the Bowflex commercials looks like an real pr*ck.

Gotta be the Mitsubishi Eclipse commercial featuring the Days Go By breakdancer.
To: wattsmag2
I hate that one too.

Can't say if he's still a car dealer but I would guess so... and Spot was any critter he wanted there... elephant, dog, horse, lion, etc....

The fact everyone remembers these ads and spokes person is proof of the fact they are working! I think you're half right. It's true that the ads aim to make you remember them and the product they're hawking. The downside is that consumers may associate a negative feeling with the spokesperson and/or product, and therefore will not buy that product.

Oh, the Video Professor guy? Yes, I agree. He is annoying. Claims that he has people stopping him in the street to tell him how great his product is. Yeah, sure.
To: seamus
Your impression of that commercial is the same as mine. "My product" "I'm being stopped in the street" "Please try my product" "It's just like a VCR" "Free...for only $6.95 shipping" "Why am I giving you this for free? Because I know you'll tell others about my product."

Kirstie Alley. No question..The Christmas add she did was to die from not for. Sooo annoying! That horrid, "Pier-er one, Pier-er one" jingle! Sheesh!
To: fone
I remember that one! (urp)

The Staples commercial I *loved* ran during the Recount in 2000. Fox News Channel had their internet stream going, and I had it on non-stop. This is the commercial that had the snowman robot as a "retail helper" in the store. One customer wanted to buy a scanner, and the robot snowman said, "You can't have her! I love her!"
Customer: "But my brother wants a scanner."
Snowman: "Get him a cellphone."
The retail guys wrench the scanner away from the heartbroken snowman, who says, dejectedly: "Weeping, weeping."
Retail Guy: "We found you someone else."
Snowman (skeptical): "Who?"
Retail guy shows him a power strip.
The snowman's eyes light up, and he makes a cat purr woo-woo sound.
Just hilarious.

Yeah, Cal did a good thing ... well, it's never too late to get a new Spot!

That would be Welch's grape juice ad, with that wretched little blonde girl and her pinch-me cheeks and her AIN'T-I-CUUUUUTE? attitude.
Blecccccch. My teeth hurt thinking about that one.
