Why eat fake meat when you can eat the real thing? What do you call animals that eat only vegetable matter? Prey. Herbivores are carnivore food. I think it's funny vegetarians are willing to reduce themselves to the status of prey, but I'm going to stick to being a predator.

"Although Quorn products were only introduced to the U.S. market in January, the manufacturer, Marlow Foods, has sold them in the United Kingdom since 1985."This probably didn't hurt the British palate/stomach since they only know how to destroy beef in their cooking....

"...that is made from fungus ..."
The Vegans think that Ergot poisoning is funny as hell, don't they, since it involves hallucinations...

Maybe this is why I get sick whenever I eat Arbys sandwiches. I'm not sure what is in those sandwiches but REAL MEAT it ain't. Once upon a time Arbys used to use REAL Roast Beef in their sandwiches. No longer.

On the other hand, I've had some pretty good steaks in Scotland and in steakhouses in London that serve beef they claim is Scottish.
Remember, don't ever accuse a Scot of being British.

Egads! There's fungus among us.

Gads! "Quorn" sounds creepier than "Soylent Green" to begin with, and it gets worse form there. "Mycoprotein?" Makes me wanna puke just thinking about it. Uck. Bleah. Gag.

Why can't they come up with a meat substitute that tastes good, is good for you, and is cheaper than steak?
Soy protein sure isn't it, with its feminizing hormones. And this Quorn sounds like a complete disaster.

Scots and Welsh are not English. But they live on the island of Britain. I think that makes them British whether they like the name or not.

Ahhh for the return of the good ol' days with Cliff and Norm at the Trough n' Brew, with the All-U-Can-Eat Bef ® and Loobster ® specials.

I tried the stuff. Once. Most awfull thing I've ever put in my mouth. And it had a laxative effect. I could go further, but I think y'all get the idea...

Have you ever tried it?

You're not a predator. You're a hunter/gatherer...actually, you are descended from a nomadic hunter/gatherer. In addition, we're omnivores, which is why our mouth isn't made up of canine teeth.

There was a Kosher dairy restaurant on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, now long gone, called Rappaport's. I recall something called a "protose steak" that was on the menu for people who wanted something meat-like instead of fish or dairy. I never had it. I never heard of anyone having it, but it was on the menu.
Why anyone would go to a dairy restaurant and order something meat-like is beyond me. It was said to be made of mushrooms. Same stuff?
Of course such a restaurant would be considered off-limits by a vegan.

I'm an omnivore but I'm also a predator. I didn't claim carnivore status. And I refuse to take on prey status.
