By Christopher Newton Associated Press Writer Monday, August 12, 2002; 8:18 PM

WASHINGTON –– The Justice Department has chosen Sept. 11 as the starting date for a new program that will require tens of thousands of foreign visitors to be fingerprinted and photographed at the border, U.S. officials announced Monday.

The security program, developed by the Immigration and Naturalization Service, will begin at several unnamed ports of entry and will mostly affect those from Muslim and Middle Eastern countries.

Those who don't have the ID card will claim they are not aliens. If you are not an alien, how will you prove it when they ask for ID?

The point is, ID for all or ID for no one.

Fingerprinting? Why does Washington let in any aliens from nations it itself calls terrorist sponsors?

Osama bin Laden is somewhere laughing his head off at Washington's making his work so much easier by refusing to crack down on immigration!

Ancient Period History

Arabia was probably the original home of the Semites. Semitic peoples have been credited with inventing the alphabet first. In the 4th millennium BC, they moved into Mesopotamia and Palestine, later to be identified as Assyro-Babylonians, Canaanites, and Amorites.

In 1818 the Saudi family regain control under the leadership of Sa'ud Al-Faisal I. But again destroyed at the end of the 19th century by the Rashidiyah of northern Arabia. The defeated Saudi family fled into exile in Kuwait. In 1902 Abdul Aziz ibn Saud retook Riyadh and by 1906 his forces controlled the Najd region. He captured the Hasa region in 1913, the Jebel Shammar in 1921, Mecca in 1924, Medina in 1925, and Asir in 1926. He then proclaimed himself King of Al Hijaz. In 1932 after unifying the conquered territories, he renamed his vast realm as Saudi Arabia.

"–All nationals of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan and Syria."

Correct me if I am wrong, but weren't the hijackers from Saudi Arabia and Egypt?

"I was living in London at the time of the Gulf War and it was virtually deserted of Americans because they thought it was a two hour drive to Baghdad and that we were living in fear of scud attacks."

Cheap shot. I don't buy it.

You are a perfect example of eurotrash snobbery, Ill bet you didnt mind having troops and pilots who werent able to find places like Berlin, Dresden and Frankfurt until the war started, on the map sixty years ago did you? Keep your mouth shut and stay in your little socialist circles, unless of course you want to thank the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA for providing the security blanket you slept under in western Europe for the last sixty odd years....

Gee, it's comforting to know that Aliens (at least some of them)are going to be tracked as much as a life long citizen like myself. Through the background checks and fingerprinting just to maintain my employment it is somewhat comforting to know that they are now at least approaching the same status level as us nationals when entering our country as non - citizens. IMHO It's long overdue.

You're going to see fewer Middle Easterners willing to come to the United States and I wonder whether that isn't the real agenda.

And considering Sept. 11th, could anyone blame us for absolutely, unilaterally denying entry to anyone from the Middle East?

We are a sovereign nation with the right and obligation to defend our citizens. We don't have to undertake shrewd maneuvers to deny entry to Middle Easterners if that's what we wish to do.

Politically correct critics can go pound sand.

All immigrants should be fingerprinted AND DNA swabbed.

AND -- since we are so totally confusing causes with effects -- all should be lie-detector tested.
