US may seize Arab airports by force to attack Iraq: report

Mon Aug 12 2002 14:19:02 ET

BEIRUT, Aug. 12 (Xinhua)--Lebanon received a report from diplomatic sources saying that the United States would seize by force several airports in Arab states when it launches a war against Iraq, the An Nahar newspaper reported on Monday.

The report said that US President George W. Bush would unleash the military offensive in January 2003 as he has to wait the outcome of the midterm elections of the Congress in November. ``Bush prefers to have Arab support for his war to remove Iraqi president Saddam Hussein and the US forces would have facilities in several neighboring Arab airports,'' the report said.

''At any rate,'' it stressed, ``once zero hour comes, Bush will give the orders to use Arab airports by force for the military operation against Iraq if the need arises.'' Bush argued that without the US interference, the Arab countries, the Arab League and the UN Security Council would not have been able to oust the invading Iraqi troops from Kuwait in the 1991 Gulf War.

Meanwhile, the report revealed that the Bush administration has allowed Israel to strike back in the upcoming confrontation against Iraq if the Arab country fires Scud missiles at Israel like it did in 1991.

The report suggested that the Arab world should take the US war preparations against Iraq ``very seriously'' and recommended a diplomatic offensive by Lebanon to consolidate Pan-Arab camp.

And people wonder why we are hated throughout the world.

Don't let them fool you. Osama hates us only because we are the infidel. We are hated because we are Judeo-Christian based society and they can't handle that. We are hated because we are not Muslim. Did you notice who it is in the world that hates us the most? The Muslims.

Sharon remembers what happened when Shamir sat out the Gulf war for Bush 41. Bush 41 then turned around and told him to give land away to his mortal enemy Arafat. Do you think Sharon would ever contemplate allowing history to repeat itself? Not on your life.

We should not fear giving them the war they're just begging for. They should learn fear.

Actually they would all conclude that being decimated in a war was Allah's will for them so they could prove to Allah their commitment to defeat the infidel. In other words, they would not learn the lesson a normal person would learn from being soundly defeated. They would just look at it as another chapter in the ever enduring Jihad. Seriously, this is the kind of peoples you are dealing with. If you want to destroy your enemy, then they all have to be killed or converted to another religion. There is a reason why Turkey is the only Islamic society that is half way manageable- Islam is generally too militant to manage outside a theocracy.

Since they are killing us already, scaring them isn't going to change that either. They are killing us because they are Muslims and we are not.

What exactly happened to the Japanese after Pearl Harbor?

My father told me when he was a kid, he ran up and told his Dad, "Daddy, Daddy, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. If they win this war, we will be buying Japanese radios, Japanese Cars,..."

Wrong. Our fight is against Islam, not radical Islam. If you kill every militant Muslim today, in time you would have more of them again as the "peaceful" Muslims discover the Koran's requirements for them to wage Jihad until the entire world is converted to Islam. It is from the Koran, thus Islam itself, that militan Islam is created.

Osama did not hijack Islam. Otherwise, he would have had to hijack one hundred million people through out the world, teach thousands of clerics and Mullahs to teach his militant Islam, etc. Do you see the problem with that premise? No, Islam hijacked Osama and made him what he is today. It is from the pages of the Koran, the holy book of Islam, that Osama has found his calling in life.

Having said that, the only way that Islam can be defeated is either (A) you destroy Islam in its entirety and outlaw it everywhere (and that is not going to happen), or (B) Jehovah comes on the scene and proves to the Muslims of the world that Allah is not so great after all. There are those that believe (B) is going to happen real soon now. See http://www.glorywatch.com/russiawatch.htm

The few nations that have been completely defeated by the USA in war do NOT hate us. Germany, Japan, Italy.

But they don't consider us unclean infidels, nor does their religion require us to be killed if we don't convert to their own.

Many of you seem to assume that this conflict has something to do with religion. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is all about dictatorships. Religion is only their cover.
Having spent 3 years in Saudi Arabia, I know that they are a people like many others throughtout the world who yearn to be free. 25% of the population watches the 75% and reports to the royals on their conduct. How could anyone not in power support such a system?
As far as any muslim military is concerned--they are ignorant cowards. You will will be amazed at how quickly these dominoes fall.

However, since they seem to respect and understand violence, maybe they'll finally stop seeing the U.S. as a Clintonized paper tiger.

Brilliant! Once we've got them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow. Unfortunately, violence can't be the only tool we use. We need a carrot too.

Of course once we've plowed Iraq, Iran, "Palestine," and Saudi Arabia, et al, under, I'm guessing any remaining Muslims might still not think of us as pals.

Well, geopolitics is a little more complicated than that. We're not going to plow under Iran, Palestine or Saudi Arabia, but we can do a whole heck of a lot to ensure that the current despots get beheaded by "spontaneous" mobs.

The only way we are going to be able to end the threat is to TERRORIZE them back, and terrorize them to such an extent that they will never risk attacking us again. That's what we had to do to Germany and Japan.

Sorry, there are no parallels between the Second World War and radical Islam. We ain't fighting a conventional industrialized power. This "war" (using the term loosely) is as much psychological, economic, educational and political as it is military.

There are major parallels. Postwar Germany and Japan have had civil governments, which prevented any radicals from renewed interest in war with the US.

Why did they do so? Because they knew their "political" survival depended on it.

They used "education" to convince their citizens, that cooperation with the US was beneficial.

The US used "economics" to reinforce the power of force and might.

Finally, the whole package comes together as a powerful, persuasive "psycholigical" manipulation.

For the whole thing to work, first they had to be defeated militarily. Get the chickens and eggs in order, okay?

You are naive to contend that arabs/muslims will respond to reason more than they will respond to force.

The line has been drawn in the sand - by the Muslems. They hate us and Israel. So be it. A regional war might not be pretty, but it might be necessary.

Just like popping a nasty zit. Ahhhh.

You're right... a regional war would not be pretty. No one wants to see the 'Highway of Death' X 10. Slaughtering muslims isn't that much fun but dammit they aren't any good at war. They are only good at the knife in the back, poison in the wine kind of sneak attack. If they could fight a war, this whole thing would either be over or there would be no Israel.
