Imagine if they had hit the Pentagon harder, destroyed Congress and killed our President --and those are just the plans we know about that failed all for Hour 1 of Day 1. It's quite obvious they meant to do far more damage than they did, it seems that by Day 3 at least we could have seen some Arab or Iraqi or Egyptian troops landing on our shores.

FITZ, you're usually a great deal more intelligent than this.
Fitz, I can appreciate your concern, and it would not surprise me if they would try anything. Remember this, however. The Soviets were quite afraid of millions of armed Americans, so they never really had a plan to invade. Also, think of the logistical nightmare it would be for large amounts of foreign troops, with tanks, artillery, combat aircraft, etc, to land here. Remember how long it took us to build up our forces in the Gulf in 91. It took about 7 months. Even with no president and no congress, the US Navy would find large transport ships, and sink them all. I am sure they intended to do more damage than they did, and will try again in the future. We need to do them in before they can do us in.
