This is interesting: Anticipates fire will reach 500,000 acres, with burnouts, before control in November.

This is exactly what I have been predicting. There will be no control of this fire until the fall/winter rains come up.

Most if not all of the Former Kalmiopsis Wilderness Area will have burnt before the fall/winter rains come.

Do you have the acreage of the the Former Kalmiopsis Wilderness Area handy someplace?

That would be a handy little piece of data to have on file.

A 1997 report has it at 179,900 acres.
