Browsing Amazon.com on August 9, I am pleased to report that "Dragon's Fury - Breath of Fire", Jeff Head's 1st volume in his projective fiction series of a coming global war, has attained the #1 position on Amazon.com in the category of "Mysteries & Thrillers" for e-books using Microsoft Reader.

As of today, the book continues to demonstrate it's staying power in the ranks of top sellers, maintaining second position on this list which is updated daily. The link to the list can be found here:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/new-for-you/top-sellers/-/books/509394/ books/2/ref=pd_hn_ts_b/002-9811006-3071236

With the recent release of Volume Two -"Trodden Under", the series will continue to attract readers with its warning concerning the dangers of overconfidence in the presumption of U.S. military technological superiority and its message of hope embodied in America's virtuous ideals and moral foundations.

Congratulations and wishes for continued success to a fellow FReeper.

"I noticed you pinged Buckeroo. Don't hold your breath. (The list of unfreepers grows and grows.)"

Glad you said "unfreepers" and not "anti-FReepers", which would have been a mis-characterization...Buckeroo's a good dude and I miss his participation on this Forum. I hope to FReep with him again in the future.

Me too. Buckeroo got a mite cranky, but he always shot straight and made strong points (from his point of view.)

"Buckeroo got a mite cranky..."

That, IMHO, was a direct result of frustration...then again, letting off steam against those who are most likely to agree with you is never a productive strategy.

Right. I was aware of the "un"/"anti" distinction. Buckeroo, who seems to be a decent chap with serious rough edges, developed a fondness for vanity threads in which he aired his gripes about the site, the management, other posters, etc. Couldn't seem to stop himself.

I am troubled by such behavior myself, but Buckeroo was always quite polite to me personally, and after meeting him at MFJII, I can confirm the "decent chap" description. Fact is, changing the hearts and minds of the Sheeple is an inherently frustrating task, and it benefits no one to go off half-cocked on folks who just don't seem to understand the world as well as you or I seem to understand it. "Patience" and "relentlessness" are two virtues that need to be applied here as well as in the non-CyberWorld if we are to achieve our mutual goals, IMHO.

Hi Mud and I send to you my same wishes. As a leading light in the art of parody, I must ask if you've heard Paul Shanklin's takeoff of Kenny Rodgers "Ruby" Shanklin impersonating the voice of Joe Lieberman singing his travails to Rubin ( Robert )
