Browsing Amazon.com on August 9, I am pleased to report that "Dragon's Fury - Breath of Fire", Jeff Head's 1st volume in his projective fiction series of a coming global war, has attained the #1 position on Amazon.com in the category of "Mysteries & Thrillers" for e-books using Microsoft Reader.

As of today, the book continues to demonstrate it's staying power in the ranks of top sellers, maintaining second position on this list which is updated daily. The link to the list can be found here:

With the recent release of Volume Two -"Trodden Under", the series will continue to attract readers with its warning concerning the dangers of overconfidence in the presumption of U.S. military technological superiority and its message of hope embodied in America's virtuous ideals and moral foundations.

Congratulations and wishes for continued success to a fellow FReeper.

I posted my remarks after speaking with a senior clerk at the Hastings book store at Fairview & Cole.

He seemed to think that, as vol I was sold out, you could sell a few boxes.

Let me know if and when you can make it.

Jeff, I just received info from amazon.com that your book we ordered in early Aug. will not be sent till the end of Aug.

I guess they had a huge run of orders for your 2nd in the series. This should be very good news for you, indeed!

I am so jazzed I can hardly wait to read it, but after reading the first I know it will be well worth the wait.

I've got the distributor working on it. They hope to get more books to them quicker to fill the demand. They were producing them based on the earlier sales and did not (do not) take into account the pent up demand.

Looking forward to your thoughts on it. I know you are going to like it. Tell Mr. Meadsjn howdy and best to the kids as ell.

God bless.

Thanks for the BUMP! I just got back (after almost an 800 mile return trip drive) from the FreeRepublic conference.

It was a great event and it was good to meet in the flesh so many people whom I have "known" for the last four years ... as well as seeing again a number I have met personally in that time.

BUMP back!

I hope so ... but that's just on top of the Mystery and Thriller eBook list. Actually very small volume compared to the best seller printed books.

But, as I see it, it rose to the top of that list when it got only a small amount of promotion and marketing from the small publisher, PocketPCPress, who has believed in the series and the novels from day one and has done everything they could to promote it.

I believe if a major publisher promoted the printed book in a big way, it would do likewise amongst printed books. ... and that would make the publisher a lot of money, which is exactly the way I need to get them thinking.

We'll see. In the mean time ... forward!

To Selling Amazon Mystery and Thriller eBook for a second week

Latest review (from August 15th):

Reading "Dragon's Fury: Breath of Fire" by Jeff Head is like listening to a beautiful symphony. Interspersed into the theme of the story there are numerous subplots that at first seem unrelated to the story, but eventually all tie together into a very well de eloped, intriguing masterpiece.

"Dragon's Fury", the first of a series of books to be published by Jeff, builds in intensity and emotion not unlike the unending crescendo of Ravels' musical classic, "Bolero". Jeff's build-up to the climax had my stomach aching and heart pounding. The book is so intense that I wanted to put it down to let my anger cool off, but Jeff's writing kept me clutching the book and trudging forward even though the story line stirred my passions.

While anxiously waiting for Jeff's second volume to be published and delivered ("Dragon's Fury: Trodden Under" is now available!) I re-read the book's epilog several times - the book's finale is a political masterpiece. The day that I finished the "Dragon's Fury: Breath of Fire" I fired off an email to family and friends insisting that they read this gem of political/technical storytelling.
Fregards bro. Let me know when yours is available.
