Alright. Tell you what. I don't like to dwell on body-counts, but I'll do some research and re-post it here hopefully tomorrow.
I will not, however, count the Black Plague or the many diseases that killed people in Central and South America and so on.

The Greeks invented scientfic inquiry about 2500 years and since then it has totally transformed the world. Every discovery and invention were made by scientists not by "God" or his self appointed spokesmen. If you don't like the scientific method you can give up all medicines, electricity, sanitation, the internet, internal combustion etc and go back to living like ignorant desert nomads who wrote the so called "holy" books. You can't say the scientific process is valid in some cases and invalid in others. Science employs the same empirical methods whether in developing new medicines, going to the Moon or studying evolution.

I will not, however, count the Black Plague Sorry, but you have to count at least a large chunk of it. ("Ever since we burned all those cats, the demons seem to be taking the form of rats....")
