I'm all for volunteering, I used to live in Arizona and loved it. But would the government allow it if it's not on private property? I'm of the opinion we and Mexico (Fox) have an agreement to allow illegals in. It's Mexico's pressure valve, and provides American business with cheap labor. If the US truly wanted to close the border, it would have been done years ago.

You are right on all points IMHO. As far as private property, I think that all land within one or two miles of the border should come under special regualtions permitting BP access. It would be insane to permit someone controlled by a Mexican cartel to buy land on the border as a launching pad without govt access.
