Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

It's a good thing she didn't falsely accuse someone. I'd hate to hear about someone serving time based on someone's lies.

People like this make it so much harder for real victims.

If I may quote from the movie Major League, "Give her the heater."

What did the firearms charge stem from?

I completely agree. She does nothing but damage victim credibility and seriously hurts true victims of crime.

In exchange for her plea, the government agreed to drop one count of using a firearm to commit a felony.

I'm confused - What am I missing here?

These charges are misdemeanors, right? I don't see any indication (at least in this article) of a separate felony being committed with a firearm. Are there some other aspects of this story that are not being detailed here?

Sealey, who is black, admitted ... painting a racial epitaph

Pondering ... what epitaph was on the garage? 'Here lies'?

I get the feeling I missed a good story. Do you have any background information on how the authorities found out this so-called crime was a fake?

With the current uproar about hate-crimes legislation (you're way more guilty of murder if you didn't like the guy and he's one of the endangered species protected under the hate-crime umbrella), I'd be curious to know how many of the reported thought crimes are real, and how many are money-makers.

No, it said, "She Lies".

painting a racial epitaph on a metal garage door

I believe the journo was thinking of a racial slur, or epithet. An epitaph is a funny limerick engraved on someone's headstone.

I've been trying to find older links on this.
I think this was even on FR back when I was still lurking...

Article from 2001 on Front Page Magazine (David Horowitz) site
"Sealey, who is black, also told police someone painted on the metal garage door, 'Go Home N------.'"

I looked for the original Charlotte Observer link, but it wasn't on their site any longer.

I don't think so. You normally don't hve a maximum of 45 years on misdemeanor counts.

I'd hate to hear about someone serving time based on someone's lies.

You mean like false reports of things like spousal abuse? People would not lie about that, would they?

setting a fire is arson, which is a state felony.
receiving a settlement from an insurance company through deception is fraud, which is a state felony - possibly federal, if the insurance company is out of state.
thinking about doing either and then following through with the deeds is conspiracy to commit ...
the list goes on. Too bad she doesn't have OJ's lawyer. she could have gotten national coverage and a larger settlement instead of jail time.
