I wholeheartedly recommend Naipaul's writings, although you have to be an adult to appreciate them. No sugarcoated nonsense there.

Good point. Maybe it's because conservatives do business, or law, or engineering instead of writing.

I don't think it's that conservatives can't be writers. I think it's the other way around: the consensus "great writers" tend to be HIGHLY intellectual, and haute intellectuals tend to be leftists.
