Just wanted to tell you, Non-Seq, my wife and I drove over to Biloxi last weekend and I took the opportunity to visit the museum at Beauvoir, Jefferson Davis' home during his last years. Having been raised in the North, I had never developed much interest in the personalities involved in secession. My concern has always been primarily with what I saw as the gross injustice of a federal government forcibly restraining states within a union which they had joined voluntarily, with the understanding that they would be free to disassociate themselves should they believe that their self-interest warranted it. However, subjected to your recent unrelenting obsession with Jefferson Davis, and your futile attempt to portray him as just as evil as Abraham Lincoln, I had developed some interest in the man. Needless to say, everything in the historical record (so beloved by that IDIOT WhiskeyPapa)appears to me to contradict your characterizarion. Nevertheless, I feel that in some way I do owe you a debt of gratitude, for, but for your obsessive-compulsive postings on JD, I probably would not have availed myself of the opportuunity to visit Beauvoir and that would have been a great loss. Thank you.
