Now that's an interesting request, Walt, from a guy who regularly posts snippets from McPherson and other biased yankee historians. I don't believe I've ever seen you scan in an image of McPherson's book yet. Does that mean I am free to dismiss your quotes of him?

I've already done so on this thread no less than four times, Walt. It's not my fault you are too blind/stupid to read it. Perhaps I may assist your vision some:
1. Original documents may be found in Microfilm 416, Roll 130 of the Union Provost Marshall, Civil War, National Archives and Records Administration.
2. Published historical reports may be found in the article "Shoot if you can by accident" by Michael Bradley and Milan Hill, North & South Magazine, November 1999.
Feel free to check with either as both confirm the incident. </
